Irmandade do Rosário dos Pretos Pelourinho - Salvador/Ba: quilombismo como viés de resistência cultural

Abstract

The central idea of this article is quilombismo as a movement of cultural resistance in the space of the Irmandade do Rosário dos Pretos, Quilombo of four centuries of history, where echoes values and principles such as cultural identity and ancestry. Part of the coloniality of all forms of power opened with modernity and the discovery of the Americas. Standard of the so-called civilized world that produced the black diaspora and still produces countless diasporas today, with people scattered around the world, seeking to reconstruct their identity, with quilombism a socio-political result of the advance of quilombos in different historical perspectives. Thus, the present work aims to analyze, in the light of quilombism, the actions of the Rosario dos Pretos Pelourinho Brotherhood – Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, as a genuine focus of cultural resistance, through a bibliographical, documentary and participant observation.
