Feminicídio: novos meios de combate

Abstract

Episodes of violence in the face of women, which culminate in death, reached a high rate in Brazil, despite the fact that this was not a recent episode. In Brazil, the quality of the female gender, according to the alarming rates mentioned above, has become a risk factor for death, since feminicide is an epidemic that plagues the country. This paper aims to explain feminicide and present the means used by the Brazilian judiciary to combat it. Therefore, the concept of feminicide was explained, showing official data on this phenomenon in Brazil, while it was demonstrated how the Maria da Penha Law became a landmark in the fight against violence in the face of women. In addition, the means of combating feminicide contained in the heart of the Maria da Penha law were also brought in and to compose the core of this study, the newest means of combating feminicide in Brazil, when the final considerations on the study were made.
