Abstract

This article seeks to understand the newspapers' perspectives on crime and how the spread of the news was concerned with influencing Salvadoran social relations, with a view to maintaining social order. As well as presenting the trajectories of the subordinate groups, their experiences and the reactions to the forms of control, in a context of diverse urban transformations in the First Republic.
