Resumo: Inoncology patient care, the constant administration of chemotherapy is one of the most important phases of the treatment. An effective alternative in the oncology service has been the Central Peripheral Insertion Catheter. On the other hand, to guarantee the permanence of the device some care is needed not only in the insertion, but also in the maintenance. Objective: To identify complications related to the use of PICC in cancer patients. Methodology: This is an integrative review of the literature. A total of 108 publications were located, the titles and abstracts were read with the aim of refining. 93 articles were excluded because they did not meet the inclusion criteria or because they were duplicated. A total of 15 papers were read. After exhaustive reading, the final sample consisted of 10 articles. Results: In the analysis of the articles, the main complications related to catheter use were identified. Among these complications were: infection (100%), thrombosis (60%), displacement and obstruction (50%), infiltration (30%), phlebitis (20%), algia and allergic reaction (10%). Final considerations: It is of paramount importance that nursing care in the use of the device be performed correctly, since improper handling can cause significant complications.
