Resumo: Burn-out violence is considered a public health problem due to its contribution to morbidity and mortality in Brazil, representing a social and financial burden for the country. Objective: To identify the epidemiological profile of women victims of burnout violence and the circumstances involved, based on the SINAN notifications. METHODS: This is a quantitative ecological study carried out by consulting the reports of burn-related violence in women from SINAN notifications in the years 2009 to 2012, totaling 2,541 notifications. The variables race, grade of schooling, age group, place of occurrence, aggressor and outcome of the cases were used. The incidence was estimated for 100,000 inhabitants. Results: Black women represent 43.9% of the reports, adults between 20 and 59 years were the most violated with 46% and children <10 years with 32%. The residence was the predominant place, being in 74.7% of the cases, the perpetrators were mostly relatives and spouses with 33.9% and 17.8%, respectively, standing out the person as aggressor in 21 , 3% of the cases. The hospital discharge was the main outcome with 70.3% followed by death by violence with 4.7%. The southern region of Brazil has the highest incidence rate, 0.9% and the North region the lowest rate 0.4%. Final considerations: It was possible to know the epidemiological profile of these women, to offer a reflection on the condition of violence they live, its impact on health and the possibility of public policies directed at the population vulnerable to this aggravation.
