Fatores que interferem na sexualidade do idoso: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The aging of the population is a worldwide event that is growing in Brazil, and although the number of elderly people is growing rapidly, there are still some misconceptions about their sexuality. Objective: Through the literature to identify the factors that interfere in the sexuality of the elderly Method:It is an integrative review, whose purpose was to gather and synthesize research results on a delimited topic or issue, in a systematic and orderly manner, contributing to the deepening of the knowledge about the subject investigated Results: Among the factors that interfere in the sexuality of the elderly, the fact that the individual is 60 years or older , sociocultural aspects and physiological changes. Final considerations: It is concluded that social, cultural and physiological and pathological factors imply in the sexuality of the elderly, and it is necessary to perform the job of educating in order to promote health education and guidance. The culture that the elderly is an asexual individual and social barriers favor the construction of stigmas that issues related to sexuality are designed only for the younger and for reproductive purposes
