O papel da enfermagem na assistência a saúde a população idosa na atenção básica: uma revisão de literatura

Abstract

Aging is a current phenomenon, the elderly population grows rapidly, and thus the life expectancy has increased considerably. In Brazil, basic health care is the gateway to care for this population, in the Family Health Strategy (ESF) the nurse is directly connected to the care of the elderly. Objective: To know the role of nursing in health care for the elderly population in primary care. Methodology: This is a review of the integrative literature, a consultation conducted in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) database between March and April 2019, in the Portuguese language, selecting articles between the years 2009 to 2018. It was carried out analysis of 75 studies, after exclusion criteria remained the total of eight articles to elaborate the study. Results: A link was established between nurse-elderly and knowledge about aging, favoring quality care for the elderly. Other relevant points are the lack of drugs in the unit, irregular presence of the elderly in the unit, lack of knowledge of the national policies of the elderly, as well as difficulty of access, are practical difficulties to the specific duties of their professional category, such as consultation of nursing. Final Considerations: It is necessary to improve the infrastructure of the BHU / ESF, greater availability of inputs and medicines, articulation of support among health professionals (NASF),and understanding of the managers about elder care in basic care by organizing with actions that reverse this reality
