Desafios e/ou dilemas das políticas públicas de saúde destinadas às mulheres negras na cidade de Salvador/BA

Abstract

Black women, since slavery, have shown their power through resistance and struggle for freedom, although Brazilian historiography is deficient in reference to the history of black women in Brazil. Therefore, it is important to reflect on the role and political trajectory of the black women's movement in the context of recognizing the specificities in the fight against sexism and racism through the action of public policies aimed at black women. Institutional racism corresponds to the factor that determines access to health services, particularly for black women who suffer from the triple inferiority: racism, gender and social class. OBJECTIVE: Identify the challenges and / or dilemmas of health policies for black women in the city of Salvador / BA. METHODOLOGY: It is a field research, with a qualitative and descriptive approach in black women's organizations in the city of Salvador / BA. RESULTS: The profile of black women interviewed was 28 to 34 years of age with a higher education level. The categories of significance were: achievements of the black women's movement; public policies for black women and institutional racism. CONCLUSION: black women represent one of the most vulnerable segments of the Brazilian population, which aggravates the conditions of access to the goods and services of these women and compromises their insertion in society as subjects of rights, specifically in health and education
