Item A linguagem e o direito médico: reflexões acerca da maneira como o consentimento livre e esclarecido é informado na relação médico-paciente(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-09-16) Alves, Ivane Jesuino; Silva, Berenice Temoteo da; Araújo, Ana Thereza Meirelles (Coord.); Baqueiro, Fernanda Ravazzano Lopes (Coord.)This paper aims to analyze the language process in the doctor-patient relationship, considering the application of the Informed Consent Term (ICF), since communication, a vital factor of human interaction, can frame the doctor-patient relationship in clarified or unenlightened, effective or ineffective, accessible or inaccessible. For this, we use a qualitative approach and adopt bibliographic research, since we rely on previous researches and productions on the theme to build our knowledge. It is concluded that one of the main causes that prevent the patient's consent to a medical procedure is the lack of understanding of medical terms and variations, and thus the search for linguistic equity in the implementation of the ICF promotes the patient's dignity and autonomy.Item Terminalidade e testamento vital: delineando os contornos para o exercício da autonomia do paciente em face do combate à distanásia(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-09-16) Almeida, Júlia Roberta Santos de; Araújo, Ana Thereza Meirelles; Araújo, Ana Thereza Meirelles (Coord.); Baqueiro, Fernanda Ravazzano Lopes (Coord.)The article is intended to deal with the Advance Directives of Will, more specifically the Vital Testament, as an instrument of exercise and guarantee of patient autonomy. The analysis of the theme began with the observation of the principles of human dignity and autonomy, as well as the concepts of dysthanasia, orthothanasia, euthanasia and anticipated directives of will. It’s perceived in society as a difficulty in dealing with the topic of terminality and other related bioethical issues. In addition, we must also observe the considerable relevance of the subjects, involving the Vital Testament, and the limits applied to the autonomy of the patient. The general objective is to discuss the possibilities that involve the Advance Directives of Will as exercise of the autonomy of the patient, in the face of the fight against dysthanasia and it is believed that this instrument is a real advance in the combat to such practice, in search of a terminality more natural and closer to otherness.
