The health of women and children has become a concern around the world. In developing countries such as Brazil, maternal and child morbidity and mortality mostly occur for causes that could be avoided, so it is necessary to create interventions and draw plans to reduce these rates, ensuring a better quality of life for this population. Objective: To analyze, based on literature evidence, the actions of primary health care services (PHC) to reduce infant and maternal morbidity and mortality rates, and strategies to prevent early weaning during the puerperium. Method: This is an integrative review using LILACS, MEDLINE and the Virtual Public Health Field databases, available on the Virtual Health Library platform. For this purpose, the following descriptors were used: infant mortality; maternal mortality; primary health care. Results: For the puerperium to be a calmer period and to bring well being to the mother and the baby, it is necessary to have a quality prenatal care, with qualified professionals and a multidisciplinary team, so that the risks are minimized and\ or detected in advance and a care plan is drawn up to ensure safe and quality pregnancy, delivery and puerperium. Conclusion: The actions of PHC services aimed at women's health must be based on an effective, humane and quality approach, which respects the subjectivity of these women and offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care, thus reducing maternal and child morbidity and mortality rates.Item Fatores que interferem nos índices de coberturas vacinais: uma revisão integrativa(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2021-06-10) Sacramento, Yuri da Silva; Martins, Maísa Mônica Flores; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Nascimento, Davi dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Pereira, Bruna dos Reis; http://lattes.cnpq.brIntroduction: Immunization is now one of the safest and most cost-effective interventions. Factors that provide both collective and individual immunity. This study is justified to investigate the possibilities of improvements in vaccine coverage rates, as well as the evaluation of its impacts and mechanisms capable of making it increasingly concise and efficient. Objective: Identify in the scientific literature the factors that contribute to non-adherence to vaccination and low vaccination coverage, as well as Describe, through an integrative review, the factors that interfere with vaccination coverage rates. Methods: Integrative literature review, in LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE and BDENF databases, from April to June, using the descriptors: Vaccine coverage; Immunization and Immunization programs. Of the 1087 articles found, only 39 met the exclusion criteria and 26 met the inclusion criteria. Results: The main factors related to low vaccination coverage were children outside the age range, children who got sick, forgetfulness, family members did not want to take the child and other reasons (lack of time, lack of immune system at the clinic). Conclusion: It can be concluded that vaccination coverage rates continue with low adherence, due to the various factors that interfere with immunization. Municipal managers need to review the way to carry out vaccination. Thus changing the method in which they occur and adapting to the environment in which most people live.Item Perfil de mortalidade materna e a efetividade das políticas públicas direcionadas à saúde materna no estado da Bahia, 2006 a 2015(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2018-10) Pereira, Bruna dos Reis; Santos, Rosemiro Biró dos; Fioravanti, Graziele de Oliveira; Martins, Maísa Mônica Flores; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Perfil epidemiológico da mortalidade infantil no município de Salvador, Bahia(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2021-06-10) Sousa, Taís dos Santos; Nascimento, Davi da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Martins, Maísa Mônica Flores; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Pereira, Bruna dos Reis; http://lattes.cnpq.brIntroduction: Infant mortality is an indicator of great relevance in the analysis of population health. Brazil showed a substantial improvement in the infant mortality rate due to efforts at the national level, such as vaccination and access to primary health care, but the Northeast region continues to rank second in the ranking of the highest rates in the country. Objective: To describe the profile of infant mortality in the city of Salvador, Bahia, from 2009 to 2018. Methodology: An ecological, descriptive and exploratory study based on secondary data obtained through the Mortality Information System (SIM) on all deaths aged < 1 year that occurred in the city of Salvador, Bahia. The variables studied were sex, color/race, mother's age, mother's education, duration of pregnancy, type of delivery, type of pregnancy, birth weight and place of birth. Results: The Infant Mortality Coefficient in the city of Salvador was 16 /1,000 LB, the Neonatal Mortality Coefficient was 9.2/1,000 LB, the Late Neonatal Mortality Coefficient was 2.5/1,000 LB and the Post Mortality Coefficient Neonatal was 4.3/1,000 NV. Final Considerations: The combination of PHC actions with current government policies can strengthen the supply of health services with a focus on improving strategies for adherence to prenatal care, vaccination and comprehensive child care.
