In view of the different technologies used for therapeutic treatment in the management of patients with chronic wounds, the care of nurses faces issues such as knowledge, hegemony of medical work, still present in the hospital environment, and the autonomy of this professional in the choice of the treatment for each wound. OBJECTIVE: Identify the performance of the nurse in the treatment of the individual with chronic wound, and the factors that influence the practice of this professional in the hospital scope. METHODOLOGY: This article is an integrative review of the literature, exploratory and qualitative approach, using the descriptors: nursing care, professional autonomy, injuries and injuries and nursing, available in Portuguese and published in the years 2008 to 2018. RESULTS: The nurse needs a theoretical knowledge based on evidence for a quality practice, the same is influenced by external factors, such as the interference of others in their decisions and the dependence of others to perform some activity, which makes it difficult for them to act with autonomy. CONCLUSION: The quest for autonomy must be sustained by a scientifically grounded practice. Objective: To analyze through the literature the role of nursing in the management of waste from health services. Method: This is a Narrative Literature Review. The databases used in this study were articles published in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) Medical LiteratureAnalysisandRetrieval System Online (MEDLINE) and Nursing Database (BDENF). In 1910, Brazilian life expectancy was 33.4 years, increasing to 64.8 years in 2000 and to 75.2 years in 2014. The nursing team performs a set of competencies that the purpose of meeting the need of the patient, preventing, recovering and rehabilitating again. Objective: to analyze nursing interventions in rehabilitation in patients affected by stroke. Method: Review of the literature in 6 scientific databases. The corpus of this study is of 7 articles in the years 2004 to 2014, carried out analysis of content and categorization of the theme. Results: Identified in the articles a greater number of interventions assists, then educational and management. Those in the care domain are more related to care provided in care interventions, planning and assessment of care. Regarding education, the articles point out the importance of the role of nurses as educators, as well as patients, family members and caregivers. The main managerial intervention was the coordination of care, transfers to another sector and high medication.
