Thus, this article has the general objective of analyze and discuss issues concerning to adolescents’ children families, related to the conjugality process of the parents along with the children development, using as support the systemic approach to family analysis and keys concepts such as intergerationality, boundaries and differentiation. As specific objectives, identify and describe the interaction and influence of families of origin of the partners on dealing with marital and parental matters; Analyze the relation of marital and parental subsystems involved in the transition to adolescence; to discuss the repercussions of the firstborn child adolescence on the marital relation of the parents. The study meets the requirements for research with humans and only after obtaining the approval of the ethics committee on research, were selected and interviewed four couples living in the city of Salvador, with firstborn sons adolescents based on semi-structured genogram and in order to reconstitute the family history, their patterns and relational processes. The couples were selected based on the following inclusion criteria: first marriage, the couple's eldest son has between 12 and 17 years of age, partners with college degree. The results show that couples with lower degree of differentiation of self from their family of origin tend to super or sub scale conflicts arising from the transition from child to adolescent phase. Concerning to intergenerational and boundaries, it was found that the individual history of each partner with their respective family of origin, the agreements made and the roles assigned influence in how marital issues are conducted, resulting in the perception of the adolescent stage of children as something critical, as well as in replacing the conjugal for the parental role. Among the participants, the dialogue between marital and parental subsystems perception of boundaries arose from automatic responses - repetition or rejection of pre-established standards.
