In addition to examining the health policy in Brazil and the comprehensive health policy for women, observing aspects related to reproductive health, family planning and others; discuss the issue of abortion, its illegality and criminalization, pointing out its impacts on women's health, and establishing the relationship between social issues, abortion and the criminalization of abortion, pointing to decriminalization as a path to women's health. For this, a bibliographic search was made and soon after a content analysis.
