From the point of view of Michel Foucault's biopower, the article observe the mechanisms of control and power over the female body in Brazil with the criminalization of abortion in the Brazilian Penal Code in Articles 124 and 126 and the symbolic imputation of this, as well as the violation of constitutional precepts when the dignity and autonomy of women are not respected. Bibliographical and jurisprudential research was used in conjunction with analysis of the country's legislation.
