For the study, it was necessary to design the distillation column in Aspen Plus, including the choice of the best thermodynamic model, material balance, minimum and design reflux ratios, number of theoretical and real plates, feed plate and sensitive plate study. For the analysis of the control strategies, we used Aspen Plus Dynamics, showing itself to be a great tool for operator training.
