The problem of this research then arises: how do the protective measures provided for in the Maria da Penha Law affect the fight against domestic violence in the city of Salvador-BA? Along this path, the main causes that contribute to the failure to implement protective measures and their role in addressing domestic violence in the Bahian capital were analyzed. The scientific method adopted was the deductive one, with a qualitative approach, through the methodology of bibliographic review, document analysis and data collection for the elaboration of the research. As a result, it was concluded that the State is still imprecise in the implementation of public policies, with the lack of inspection of compliance with protective measures, inattention in the care of victims, the lack of space for effective reception, in addition to the delay in granting them.
