2019-08-302019-08-302019-08-302019-06-03https://ri.ucsal.br/handle/prefix/950Objectives: to understand the person's perception of stoma about their sexuality as well as the impact of the stoma on their sexuality. Method: This is a qualitative descriptive study, with eight ostomized adult participants, who were interviewed in depth with the application of a semi-structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed according to Bardin reference, categorical type, the exploration of the material and interpretation of the data led to the establishment of the following subjects: Socioeconomic, demographic and clinical aspects of the participants ; perception of sexuality about the stoma; impact of ostomy on sexuality. Results: ostomized patients understand the stoma perception about their sexuality, both related to the sexual act and in a broader way. The impacts of sexuality were: body perception, impact on the sexual act, loss of libido.
