From the increase in electricity consumption rates in Brazil and the observation of the difficulties faced by universities in keeping the elec- tricity consumption of computer labs within the scope and budgets foreseen. Therefore, the lack of transparency of the cost of using computers in a given period of time has consequences both for the university and for students and researchers, who rely on this resource as much as support in their academic lives.
