The inquiry treats with social and economical changes occurred in the marriage influenced by factors, ideological, affection, and his effects in the marital relationship. It attracts attention for the inclusion of new values that aim at the personal gratuity of the spouses obtained through the marital relation. The values established by the contemporary society, there are thought factors of the process of the marital satisfaction and are far from the vision of marriage like institution only based on the affection and sexual aspects. This study did not find autonomy and individualization like variables of the process of the marital satisfaction, but it points to the agency and open communication, components of this process, like channels that can make possible an environment for the behavior autonomous and individualized between the spouses. The literature shows up that the feeling love is considered as basic for the marital relationship. There is recommended the biggest production of inquiries that investigate autonomy and individualization in the issue marital satisfaction in the contemporary marriage.
