    In view of the increasing social relevance of the subject and the magnitude of Sport in its integrating function within the social body, this article aims to demonstrate the legal implications regarding sports law and the peculiarities of the professional athlete 's working relationship. Dealing with the development of the theme as an autonomous right and its guidelines to legislate on sport, becoming possessor of sources and principles, vital to its normatization. A qualitative research is carried out, based on doctrinal analyzes, scientific articles and jurisprudence. Therefore, it is verified that the sports law is governed by the General Law of Sport, the so-called Pelé Law, as well as all the peculiar aspects that involve the employment relationship between the club and the athlete, applying in a subsidiary way and which is compatible with the principles of sport, the Consolidation of Labor Laws.
