Thesis deals with the academic and family trajectories of students suffering from mental illness, their personal and family trajectories, on students who are enrolled in Nursing and Physiotherapy courses at the Catholic University of Salvador and with suspicion of depressive symptoms. Research was delineated in a quantitative and qualitative method, being conducted in two stages: in the first, a prevalence study was carried out to estimate the frequency of depressive symptoms in the study population and to track second-stage informants through application of a sociodemographic questionnaire and academic profile and the Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20). The questionnaire was applied in the classroom of all the semesters of said courses, counting on the participation of 185 students of Nursing and 101 of Physiotherapy. Results showed a prevalence of depressive symptoms of 44.8%, with a higher frequency for Nursing students (59.4%). For the second stage were selected for convenience, students classified as suspects of depressive symptoms using the SRQ-20 score. Data were collected through a narrative interview, which allows, through listening, to generate data about the stories of the individual and to apprehend meanings and interpretations that each gives to her own existence. For the analysis of the interviews, the technique of comprehensive analysis was employed. Ten students, six Nursing and four Physiotherapy students were interviewed, nine women, aged between 19 and 40 years, with family income of up to two minimum wages; seven of them are the first of the family to enter higher education. Admission to the university for these young people who already have a history of depressive symptoms requires major effort from them to cope with the stressful situations of academic life and forces them to operate with the material, pedagogical and emotional resources that are not always accessible. These young people "survive" the stressors, at the cost of an even greater effort, triggering forces in a direction that can construct senses to their existence.Item Complicações gestacionais autoimunes no lúpus eritematoso sistêmico: revisão de literatura(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-05-31) Sousa, Suely de Jesus; Galvão, Verena Loureiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; http://lattes.cnpq.brTo describe autoimmune gestational complications in systemic lupus erythematosus. Material and methods: This is a literature review. The identification of the articles was performed through bibliographic search in the Scielo and Pubmed databases, from 2010 to 2018. Results: Systemic lupus erythematosus can impair pregnancy, causing results with a higher prevalence of gestational complications such as SLE activity, pre-eclampsia, thyroiditis, and antiphospholipid antibody syndrome. Concluding Remarks: Knowing the SLE, its clinical manifestations, diagnosis, besides preventing complications, guarantees a successful pregnancy. It is necessary that the studies are done so that there is a favorable maternal-fetal benefitItem Dor fantasma em pacientes com amputações maiores em membro inferior: revisão de literatura(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-05-31) Pinto, Ádila Pedreira Gomes; Figueirôa, Giovana Rossi; lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; lattes.cnpq.br; Salgado, Jéssica Damasceno; lattes.cnpq.brPhantom pain is present in most of the individuals who have suffered amputations. It is characterized as one of the main postoperative complications in this population, about 80%. Thus, due to the negative repercussions that this entails in the rehabilitation process and in the quality of life of these individuals, the present study aimed to carry out an update in the literature regarding phantom pain. A literature review was carried out in Portuguese and English related to phantom pain, lower limb amputations, diabetes mellitus (DM) and peripheral obstructive arterial disease (PAD) and their English translations. Of the 593 articles found, 64 were selected for analysis and 20 comprised the study. The incidence of amputations in Brazil has increased in the last years and there is a predominance in the lower limbs, in addition the main cause is vascular diseases. Phantom pain can be severe and difficult to control, it may appear for days, months and even years. Patients present pain sensations such as burning, cutting, stabbing, sharp sensations, and shooting; they also classify pain in the absent limb as something that interferes a great deal in their daily lives, often making it impossible to practice daily life activities. After a better understanding of the pathophysiology, the treatments began to appear with a greater impact, which reduced the presence of phantom pain in amputees and improved the quality of life of patients / clients, as well as the psychosocial benefits of these increasingly early interventionsItem Efeito do método pilates sobre a fadiga de pessoas com HAM/TSP: ensaio clínico randomizado(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-10) Lisboa, Camila Keite Rodrigues; Brito, Eliana Sales; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Estratégias de enfrentamento da família de uma criança com diagnóstico de hipospádia: relato de caso(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-06) Santos, Mércia Gonzaga da Paixão; Brito, Eliana Sales; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Freitas, Juliana Viana; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Introduction: Hypospadias is the most frequent congenital malformation of the male external genitalia, characterized by the abnormal opening of the urethral meatus location, with the news of this deformith, a rupture in the idealization of motherhood can occur, generating conflicting feelings in the mother. OBJECTIVE: Describing the presence of handicapped people in college institutions. METHODS: It is an ecological survey held in Brazilian territory using data obtained with the access to information from the area of inclusive college education, provided by the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira INEP , from 2011 to 2018.The analyzed variables were as follow: amount of offered openings to handicapped people, amount of handicapped students enrolled in college institutions and amount of college institutions in Brazil. RESULTS: In 2011 there were 2.365 College Institutions in Brazil, in 2017 there were already 2.448, with the data collecting it was possible to realize that the amount of these institutions has been increasing around 2% to 3% each year. From January 2012 to December 2018 there was a registration of 224.894 handicapped students enrolled in college institutions, with a higher prevalence of students in the Southeast region corresponding to 84.634 (37.6%), followed by the Northeast region with 39.524 students(17,5%), the Middle west region was the one with the lowest registration during the evaluated six years with 21.774 (9.6%) students; from the 47.730.000 openings offered, 21,22% were directed to handicapped people in the last seven years. CONCLUSION: In Brazil the discourse of education for all has been slowly growing even in a precarious way . it was possible to see that even with the growing number of college institutions and consequently the increase in the quantity of openings offered to handicapped students, the amount of them doesn't fulfill all the offered openings. The law requires that the teaching institutions make adaptations for an inclusive policy: at first the selection process has to comply with all the difficulties presented by the students for the entrance examination as well as to promote capacitation for the teachers, to invest in technological resources, guides interpreters among others and thus eliminate barriers which make it difficult the access and permanence of handicapped students in college education.Item A percepção dos docentes de fisioterapia sobre o estresse: um estudo qualitativo(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-06-17) Silva, Bruna Lucena; Almeida, Silvana Monteiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Sá, Sumaia Midlej Pimentel; http://lattes.cnpq.brTo know the perception of physiotherapy teachers about stress. Method: Descriptive study, qualitative approach. Eleven teachers of physical therapy participated in the study, who answered a semi-structured interview that addressed questions regarding teachers' perception of stress. The data were analyzed from the perspective of Bardin. All informants signed the Free and Informed Consent Term (TCLE). Results: After transcription of the interviews and rigorous analysis of the data, it became possible to identify and define the categories of the present study, being these: 1. Stress in teachers' work routine; 2.The meaning of stress for teachers. Final considerations: After analyzing the interviews it was verified that the stress has a very broad meaning. This meaning is elaborated by the individuals according to the relation that they have with the stimulus. Some respondents understand stress as beneficial, others as evil, but most respondents believe that stress is necessary for the growth, development, and evolution of human beingsItem Recursos terapêuticos não farmacológicos no alívio da dor em pacientes com Síndrome de Guillain-Barré: revisão de literatura(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-06-07) Falcão, Letícia Silva; Freitas, Juliana Viana; lattes.cnpq.br; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; lattes.cnpq.brGuillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute demyelinating inflammatory polyneuropathy that affects the peripheral nerves, with normally reversible manifestations. Characterized by pain, ascending symmetrical paralysis with progressive limb weakness. Its incidence is one to two cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Pain is the first and foremost symptom, ranging from moderate to severe and can last up to 2 years. The pain in GBS has aroused interest of the scholars, since it directly affects the quality of life of the patients. Objective: To gather the studies that investigated the use of non-pharmacological therapeutic resources in the control of pain in patients with GBS. Material and Method: It is a review of narrative literature, with a search carried out in the BIREME, SCIELO and PUBMED database in the Portuguese and English languages, that the keywords were in the title or abstract, published between 1990 and 2019. In the database were found 210, through reading the title and abstract excluded articles, 82 did not address pain in GBS, 15 were duplicate, 38 were review, 62 reported only pharmacological resources. After the first selection, reading the full text and excluding 10 other articles, 3 did not clarify which therapeutic resource was used and 7 referred to the nursing care in GBS. Clinical trials, case studies or reports of experiences investigating pain relief in GBS were included. Excluded from the research articles that used only pharmacological resources, which did not clarify what therapeutic resources used. As a result, 3 articles can be collected that demonstrated that non-pharmacological therapeutic resources are viable and favorable for pain relief in patients with GBS. Further studies with better methodological quality and the use of other non-pharmacological therapies for pain relief in this population, such as: acupuncture, neuromodulation, reik, and music therapyItem Repercussões psicossociais e espirituais da doença renal crônica e dos tratamentos de hemodiálise e diálise peritoneal sobre os familiares(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-11-26) Almeida, Aline Mota de; Rabinovich, Elaine Pedreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Carvalho, Evanilda Souza de Santana; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Amorim, Rita da Cruz; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Sá, Kátia Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Sá, Sumaia Midlej Pimentel; http://lattes.cnpq.brChronic kidney disease causes physical, emotional and social changes in the person affected, with repercussions on the family, which is subject to the various adaptive demands imposed by the disease and dialysis therapy. From the literature, quality of life, spirituality, hope, resilience and social support were highlighted as elements that may be present and be influenced by illness, and even present themselves differently among family members of people on hemodialysis and on peritoneal dialysis. General objective: To analyze the psychosocial and spiritual repercussions that chronic kidney disease and hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments can have on the sick person's family members. Method: Mixed study with qualitative (n = 20) and quantitative (n = 160), descriptive, cross-sectional and comparative study, carried out with family members of people with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis therapy, in a dialysis unit in Salvador-Bahia, Brazil. Data collection was carried out from September to December 2019, after approval by the Ethics Committee, using the following instruments: sociodemographic questionnaire; semi-structured interview script; WHOQOL-bref; WHOQOL-SRPB; Resilience Scale for Adults; Herth's Hope Scale and Perceived Social Support Multidimensional Scale. The data obtained from the scales wereanalyzed with descriptive statistics and association tests adequate to the nature of the variables. Content analysis was used to treat narratives and discussions were carried out through the triangulation of methods. Results: illness and treatment repercussions on the investigated elements were identified and quality of life, spirituality, religiosity and social support obtained higher scores for the peritoneal dialysis group; while in hope and resilience the scores had similar values between treatment groups. Negative self-perception of life quality emerged after the disease and treatment, dealing with it through overcoming mechanisms, reorganization of family, personal and social everyday life, and through passive acceptance of the experienced situation. As sources of support, spirituality, religiosity, hope, and support from family, friends, and health professionals were mentioned. Correlations were identified showing that age, gender, belief, income and length of care influenced the quality of life. There were positive correlations between the averages of quality of life domains; general quality of life index; spirituality, religiosity and personal belief; resilience; hope; and perceived social support, indicating that the higher the score of one of these elements, the higher the score of the others. Main conclusions: this study confirm the thesis that the statistically significant differences in the quality of life of family members of peritoneal dialysis with a higher score in the environment domain, when compared to those of hemodialysis, do not occur due to the type of treatment, considering that this treatment causes greater care overload for the family, but due to the socioeconomic characteristics of the families of the people who are indicated for the referred treatment. Given the differences in scores between groups of family members, specific care actions and programs for family members are required by type of treatment.Item Trajetória de estudantes da graduação em medicina da UEFS: percursos para permanência e conclusão do curso, frente às expectativas familiares(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-11-20) Silva, Luciana Rios da; Amorim, Ivonete Barreto; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Rabinovich, Elaine Pedreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Castro, Selma Barros Daltro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Mussi, Amali de Angelis; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Santos, José Eduardo Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.brThe fluidity and transience dynamics pertinent to today's society has required people to assume social roles that are constantly changing. Although contemporaneity displays a fluid character to social relations associated to the intense changes in values and needs with which we live daily, educational concerns and the predominance of school capital remain latent within most families. Many young people have the desire to become medical doctors and this choice is stimulated by families that project aspirations for their children based on a professional future that guarantees security and social recognition and anchored in the representation around “being a doctor”. However, the student's entry into a Higher Education Institution provides no guaranty of getting a degree in fact, once the academic environment raises conflicts and shows a complex reality to which medical students are submitted. Hence, this study is focused on the formative trajectory of medical students at the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS), aiming to the objective and subjective resources enrolled by these students, in order to remain and conclude the course, considering both academic issues and facing family expectations. According to the general objective, specific objectives were outlined, which consisted of analysing the existing relations between society, education and development, in the process of professional choice; Identify the objective and subjective elements used by students to resolve tensions relevant to academic dynamics; Describe whereby students perceive their family's expectations about the training process and future professional activity. To present from the maps and the interviews, how the voices of the students' selves are positioned before the student self, a member of a family, a person and a future professional, in the context of medical academic training. The methodology toward the research development was based on a qualitative approach, case study type, involving collecting information technique of the self map, semi-structured interview and sociodemographic questionnaire. In order to elaborate the theoretical basis of the study, the productions of Bourdieu (1993,1996, 2003, 2015), Chaudary and Charma (2008), Cunha (2007), Han (2017 to 2017 b), Hermans ( 1992), Lipovetsky (2007), Luckesi (2012), Machado (1997), Masetto (2003, 2009), Oliveira, Rego and Aquino (2006), Petrini (2009), Roudinesco (2003), Scheffer (2018) and Singly (2010) were applied. The results show different strategies to deal with the conflicting conjecture were used by students during the training process, however, among all the available resources, the individual articulation prevailed toward facing the adverse situations, which in general presented as a background the subsidy for family care.Item Vínculo parental, autoridade e adolescências: caminhos e descaminhos para a “adaptação ativa à realidade”(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2017-12-12) Avena, Maura Espinheira; Petrini, Giancarlo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1018186216920083; Quiroga, Ana Pampliega de; Rabinovich, Elaine Pedreira; Milani, Feizi Masrour; Brito, Eliana SalesThis study was developed from a multireferential approach to investigate the authority recognized in the parental relationship and its relation with the process of construction of the active adaptation to the reality of the adolescent. The theoretical-methodological repertoire perspective used was the Social Psychology (Psicologia Social) of Enrique Pichon-Rivière and so, the research was developed with 58 teenagers, 8th graders.¬ Period of a private school from Salvador/BA and 10 parents and/or guardians of these students. The study was carried out in three steps: in the first, 15 meetings were developed in which the methodology of the operative group was used with 18 adolescents belonging to one of the groups from the 8th grade. In the second step, the questionnaire was applied in the classroom with the 58 teenagers of the three classes from the 8th grade. So, open interviews were conducted with parents and/or guardians of these adolescents as part of the third step. The data analysis was carried out through the CSRO (Conceptual Schema Reference and Operation) and the analysis of content, considering the basic assumption that the active adaptation to the reality is a process and, therefore, It is built through the parental bond and social relations, through the communication and learning of some skills or competences that have been adopted as variables, such as: dialogue and communication capacity, ability to put yourself in someone's shoes, tolerance to frustration, ability to resolve conflicts and be able to adjust yourself to the reality in a critical way. Through the confrontation of the models and the parental educational practices with the skills and/or competences that have already been mentioned before, observed in the adolescents, it was possible to reach some final considerations. When there is a prevalence of power and therefore, of the authoritarianism as the basic characteristic of parental educational models, the conditions for the construction of the active adaptation to the reality of the adolescent children are not created. On the other hand, if parental authority is recognized through a democratic, participatory and cooperative model, the paths for the construction of this adaptation become possible. This study also highlighted the need for more researches related to the theme considering its complexity and its relevance to the family and social spheres.
