Objective: To analyze the incidence of Health Care-Related Infections in the adult ICU in the period of 2017. Methodology: This is an epidemiological, descriptive, documentary and retrospective study carried out in four public hospitals in Salvador, with data from the State Control Center of Infection Hospital-NECIH. The population consisted do fall hospitalized patients in 2017 and those diagnosed with IRAS in ICUs. Results: In this study we found an incidence ranging from 7.5 to 46.9 penthouse and patients / day; a lethality associated with IRAS ranging from 14.7% to 18.6%. As for the incidence related to invasive devices, it was found that the highest frequency was VAP ranging from 29 to 65.5 per thousand VM / day. The most frequent microorganisms were Klebsiella pneumoniae, 29.4% Escherichia coli with 19.2% and Pseudomonas aeruginosa 19.2%. Final considerations: The various technological advances in the sense of maintain in gander covering the life of ICU patients brought benefits as the prognosis of these patients, but increased the risks associated with various interventions that are necessary during treatment, hospital infection being a risk that needs to bead dressed and controlled through effective measures.
