Cervical cancer is the third most frequent tumor in women, the fourth cause of death of women by cancer in Brazil and in the world ranking, occupies the seventh place, being the fourth type more common in the feminine population. Objective: To identify the number of women who died due to cervical neoplasia in the city of Salvador, Bahia. Method: This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Data on mortality from cervical neoplasia were collected through DATASUS from 2005 to 2016. Results: It is noted that women aged between 50 and 59 years and above 60 years, with a level of 1 to 3 years, of brown color and single marital status, were the ones that died the most due to the neoplasia. Discussion: Over the years there has been an increase in the number of deaths from cervical cancer. Compared to the state, the capital, Salvador, has a very high number of cases of death of the neoplasia, these numbers are associated with the life habits and risk factors of the disease. Final Considerations: Faced with the number of deaths and mortality coefficient evidenced in the study, strategies are necessary to raise awareness among the female population in the prevention of disease, early diagnosis, and adequate and effective treatment of cervical cancer.
