(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2021-10) Azevedo, Isadora Viana Macedo de; Santos, Maria Sthefanni Ribeiro dos; Galvão, Verena Loureiro; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do Salvador
This study aims to report an experience of a patients association for emancipation and care with their disease. Case experience with directors of a rheumatic disease association. Was a semi-structured interview that followed guiding questions with following themes: circular economy and patient associations, patient-disease aspects and associations, association interventions and disease-related aspects. Circular economy in conjunction with patient associations aims to assist and facilitate access to treatments and reduce economic impacts, therefore seeking the quality of life of these patients. The understanding and prognosis of rheumatic diseases depend on different variables that often escape perspectives that encompass disease and have variables resulting from the chronicity condition. Patient associations can collaborate with fundamental support through their interventions and knowledge about daily life and aspects related to the disease. Circular economy, as well as the health and perspectives of patients, should be focused on effectively improving biopsychosocial patterns that interfere in disease process and environment. New studies must be carried out so that there is a greater understanding economic and social environment that permeates the population's health and disease conditions.
