(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2021-12-16) Santos, Romilson Almeida dos; Carvalho, Maria Amélia Lira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Costa Júnior, Vander Luiz Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br
Health is an integral part of the social security system that ensures a model of social protection, resulting from a public action, constitutionally provided for (art. 194 of the CF/1988), and which constitutes a right for all and a duty of the State , guaranteed through social and economic policies aimed at reducing the risk of illness and other health problems, and universal and equal access to actions and services for its promotion, protection and recovery. This article aims to analyze how the Unified Health System - SUS can be affected by the influence and adoption of the implementation of neoliberal policies that can directly contribute to its devaluation. It also seeks to identify actions taken by governments and managers adhering to this ideology that directly contribute to the lack of recognition by civil society regarding the importance of the System. Therefore, it brings the general notions of the SUS and also presents the benefits and results it contains, in view of its relevance in view of the huge demand across the country, identifying and giving notoriety to some institutions that comprise it, its purposes and range of services offered. In the construction of this article, a bibliographic review, analysis of documents and interviews and legal provisions that support the creation of the System, its development, underfunding and even underfunding were carried out.
