    Aspectos promotores do aleitamento materno: uma revisão integrativa

    Introduction: There are numerous advantages of breastfeeding, both for the mother and the baby, so its promotion, protection and support should be priority actions among health professionals, emphasizing the need to encourage and strengthen promoting actions, with a view to sustaining the breastfeeding practice. Objective: Identify the aspects that favor the promotion of breastfeeding. Methodology: Integrative review study, based on a survey of articles published in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), between 2015 and 2020, written in Portuguese. A combination of descriptors was used: Breastfeeding, Breastfeeding and Health Promotion. Based on the selection criteria, twelve articles were found. Results: After analyzing the information, it was possible to identify some aspects that promote breastfeeding - Role of health professionals: strategies to promote breastfeeding; Support programs promoting breastfeeding and Support networks as promoting breastfeeding. Final considerations: Health professionals must think about strategies to promote breastfeeding that go beyond technical assistance actions to address broader aspects of educational actions involving women in their individuality, empowering them in self-confidence aiming at successful breastfeeding.
