To know the impact of the diagnosis of childhood cancer for children and the family. Method: This is a literature review on the impact of childhood cancer diagnosis, with a qualitative approach of the years they understand. Information was obtained in scientific journals articles and scientific research websites on the internet. Results: In all the studies were observed who were the caregivers, how was to receive the news and how it is after receiving the diagnosis. It was observed that in all studies all caregivers report fear, how difficult it was to receive the diagnosis, and religious beliefs. Final considerations: It was observed that even with so many difficulties, the family remained united to the disease, that the mixture of feelings, doubts, fears and apprehensions are part of the family environment after the diagnosis.
