Abstract
Cerebral palsy causes physical and functional changes including hemiparesis. Bracing is a
widely used feature in children with CP; it aims to improve the alignment of peripheral joints,
prevent joint deformities and optimize space-time aspects. Objective: To observe possible
changes in walking parameters, with and without AFO use in MMII. Materials and methods:
This is a case report involving a child with a hemiparesis-type PC. A GoPro Hero4 was used
to shoot the gait with and without AFO, the images were analyzed by the CVMOB and
compared the two moments for analysis of possible changes in speed, pitch length and
cadence. Project was approved by the CEP with CAEE of 82972217.9.0000.5628 according
to Law 466/2012. Results: The AFO prescription for children with spastic hemiparesis-type
PCs may influence spatiotemporal aspects. The use of the device increased pitch length
however decreased speed and cadence. Conclusion: The results showed that AFO
influences the spatiotemporal aspects of gait of the hemiparetic child due to PC sequel but
new studies involving a larger number of participants are needed to increase the results
