Based on the population distribution, meteorological and physical characteristics of the region, defined frequencies for the occurrences of thirty one simulated events, and established the characterization of other physical effects arising from thermal radiation and pulse pressure in shock waves and through the use of different vulnerability, it was possible to estimate the probability for the occurrence of deaths for each accidental scenario simulated. The development of simulations of thirty one events was done with the assistance a computer system. The main goal of the study was to identify the impacts from major accidents, affecting groups of people from the surrounding communities of the industrial facilities of transport and storage of petroleum fuels; for this reason, the social risk is the priority index in this evaluation study and has the risk tolerance curve F-N as it’s main indicator. Based on the results obtained for the risk of occupation of the equipment of the oil industry in the city, through social risk (intolerable) and individual risk (intolerable to the pipeline and ALARP for tanks), and as compared to the standards of CETESB, it is concluded that the site of the oil industry in the Madre de Deus city, incur a high level of risk to foreign population residents in the vicinity of transport facilities (pipeline) and storage (tanks and spheres) to the probability of occurrence of an accident chemical amplified.Item O projeto de requalificação do Parque da Cidade (Salvador-BA): avaliação dos danos ambientais e indicativo de ação(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2017-02-09) Coppieters, Fernanda Galdino; Teixeira, Aparecida Netto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4602341145962830; Baiardi, Amilcar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5894026951550520; Prado, Alessandra Rapacci Mascarenhas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2158993363327030The observation of environmental degradation, especially by human action, provokes reflections regarding the finitude of resources available on the planet and their conservation, and points to the need for an understanding among peoples that surpasses the discourse of scarcity and brings the debate to itself Society-nature relationship; After all, understanding the environmental issue means thinking about a world differentiated by distinct social practices and diverse historical and cultural values given to the environment, generating often conflicting uses. In this context, the objective of this study is to evaluate the recent municipal redevelopment project of the City Park of Salvador, in terms of compliance with environmental legislation and propose a way of minimizing possible environmental damages. The method used was exploratory juridical-sociological research, whose object is the analysis of the legal norm in the context of the social reality in which it is manifested and using the deductive reasoning, covering the collection and analysis of documents, laws and jurisprudence. The work covered the history and definition of public space, with the formation of Joventino Silva Park, as well as the legal issues involved, through the analysis of Brazilian environmental legislation, legal theory, guiding principles of the Federal Constitution and the history of the evolution of Preservation and conservation on the world stage, as well as examples of environmental damage. Based on hypothetical proof of non-attendance of the municipal project to requalify the Park to the prerogatives of environmental legislation, which would be obtained through a civil inquiry, the work presents an indicative for a future Public Civil Action, with the effect of Term of Adjustment of Conduct, Which may be proposed by the Public Prosecutor's Office in detriment of the Municipal Government of Salvador, in order to compensate for environmental damages. This proposal for an action letter is adequate to the profile of the Environmental Professional Master. In this sense, we sought to offer the citizen legal procedures available, regarding the minimization of environmental damage, especially when caused by agents or public agencies, which has the duty to watch over the natural and artificial environment, ensuring a healthy environment for future generations.Item Projeto de um consórcio intermunicipal para tratamento e gestão de resíduos sólidos(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2014-09-19) Fontes, Anizaura dos Santos; Carvalho, Silvana Sá de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2509418288797497; Fonseca, Antônio Ângelo Martins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2100939179114481; Baiardi, Amilcar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5894026951550520The following work presents an Inter-Municipal Associate project, consisting of small existing municipalities in southwest Bahia state including the Itapetinga territory and the southeast region of Vitória da Conquista: Nova Canaã, Iguaí, Ibicuí, Firmino Alves, Santa Cruz da Vitória and Itajú do Colônia, with the objective to generate a solution to a serious environmental problem: inadequate disposal of garbage, as well as the lack of implementation of benefits such as the creation of more jobs and income for communities in need, which represent almost 50% of the population within these municipalities. Therefore the municipalities included in this study were visited, where the respective environmental secretaries were interviewed and answered a questionnaire pertaining to their knowledge of the environment, Agenda 21, as well as the transportation used and the applied logistics of garbage disposal. Moreover, the study presented questions pertaining to the Political National laws on solid waste and the norms generated for contracting Public Associates. The research showed that there is a great lack of knowledge on the part of the municipal governments concerning the environment and environmental regulations regarding waste disposal, as well as existing opportunities for the municipality to invest in this area. Despite the waste disposal issue being a big concern among the populations and managers within these municipalities, in the beginning of this study there had been no solicitations of such a study to resolve the issues. Another questionnaire was handed out that called for information regarding expenses, distances covered, and the quantity of garbage collected to verify how much these municipalities spend annually on waste disposal without generating any benefits for the community. A study was conducted using informational data from IBGE and IPEA to trace the socio-economic and cultural profile of these municipalities as a tool to aid in developing an understanding of the reality of each one. This data was turned into graphs to better visualize, analyse, and compare the realities. The research proved that since the followed principles established for the creation of associates, the development of strategies, clarification programs, and participation by the population would make it possible to turn them into reality and later build a sanitary landfill. This landfill would be created by intercropping and by following the previously established activities. It would benefit the region in various ways.Item Qualidade da água em sub-bacia hidrográfica urbana: o caso do Rio Camaçari/Ba(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2013-12-09) Sommer, Renata Segovia; Alva, Juan Carlos Rossi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2039696191553980; Baiardi, Amilcar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5894026951550520; Celino, Joil José; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8472472348669864Water resources are essential to all life forms. Our country is fortunate to have a large amount of fresh water equivalent to 12 % of the world available for consumption. Despite being a key resource for the survival of living beings, has been used incorrectly, resulting in the pollution and contamination of water sources that affect water availability in certain regions. The present study aims at assessing the water quality of the river Sub -basin Camaçari, through physical, chemical and biological, and suggest possible mitigation measures that result in improved water quality. There were two water collects in seven sampling points, which are located from the river's source to its mouth Northeastern Complex where the encounter with the Joanes river, and the first collection took place in june 2012 and the second in may 2013. Moreover, the points were photographed, marked with GPS and features of the surroundings were recorded in a protocol field observation. After the analysis of the samples was realized that the region of the headwaters of the river Camaçari, is located where the Point 1 is well maintained however the parameters Total Solids, Salinity, Dissolved Oxygen and pH are at odds with the maximum allowed by CONAMA Resolution 357/2005. In other points, it was observed that the level of pollution and contamination of water increases as the river enters the city Camaçari. Microbiological analysis indicated the absence of coliforms in only Point 1. Given this reality can be concluded that the process of industrialization and the lack of urban planning, combined with significant population growth were the main agents cluttered responsible for the environmental degradation of the river. Thus, it becomes necessary to adopt mitigation measures to assist in the recovery of this area, aimed at social welfare and environmental, among them we can mention the recovery of riparian vegetation in specific regions, slope retention preventing new outbreaks of erosion and siltation and implementation of a program of sanitation throughout the area this sub-basin, thereby reducing contamination with pathogenic organisms.Item Resíduos sólidos na construção civil: plano de gestão(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2013-11-28) Sousa, Edilmar Ribeiro; Alva, Juan Carlos Rossi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2039696191553980; Baiardi, Amilcar; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2039696191553980; Machado, Miriam de Fátima Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9125556472743507This research developed under the theme of the Construction and Demolition Waste (RCD), in construction, sought to substantiate a critical analysis of the model of solid waste management, from generation source in the building works and refurbishment performed by small businesses construction and its screening, in order to prepare the RCD to be collected and forwarded appropriately for the final disposal of environmentally friendly, in the city of Salvador - Bahia - Brazil. Through analysis of facts that motivate the change in procedures for this situation, that may in the benefits of creating a management plan for the construction of solid waste as a tool in its origin, using methods and concepts already formally established, in order to search for positive results. As well as its importance to the balance between economic development and environment. The activities carried out within the construction sites, resulting in the possibility of environmental impacts by generating RCD, more specifically during the implementation phase of the project. The identification, evaluation and adjustment of the volume of CDW generated within the construction site, will create conditions for implementation of the management plan of the RCD, to consciously manage the entire construction process. In determining the composition of the waste and their classes according to the type of project, it becomes possible to create a knowledge base useful for preparing the Management Plan RCD, equating to the prevention and reuse, allowing the choice early appropriate methods for handling, sorting, collection, transportation, storage, recovery and disposal of environmentally friendly material, bringing these extreme points of the chain. To exemplify the goal of this research was exposed a model plan for waste management with application in a construction site, to the point of collection to final destination outside the construction site, to be made by a company collector accredited waste.
