Item Envolvimento paterno no contexto da carreira militar: estudo de casos múltiplos em Salvador/BA(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-03-20) Portela, Jefferson de Souza Lima; Moreira, Lúcia Vaz de Campos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Petrini, Giancarlo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Carvalho, Ana Barreiros de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/This master's dissertation has the general objective understand how the exercise of the military profession can impact on parental involvement. Qualitative exploratory research was developed, through the study of multiple cases. The investigation was carried out with six male military officers, who are parents, aged between 33 and 45 years and are linked to the 6th Military Region Command. All respondents provide service in barracks located in the city of Salvador / Bahia. For data collection, the “Interview script for father involvement in the context of the military career” was constructed, which contains open questions addressing: (a) identification data; (b) paternity; (c) paternity and military training. After the study was approved by the UCSal Research Ethics Committee, interviews with military parents took place in a room at the military unit, which was characterized by being private. The interviews were recorded so that no information was lost and everyone signed the Free and Informed Consent Form. The recordings of the interviews were transcribed and the data obtained were analysed descriptively. The main results reveal that the participants attribute to the father characteristics such as: being responsible, educating, punishing those who should be punished and rewarding those who act correctly, transmitting moral and ethical values and caring. In addition, they emphasize that he needs to be affective and present in the lives of his children. Military training was found to have a major impact on his personal characteristics and fatherhood, especially in terms of discipline, hierarchy and values. In addition, social relations are basically geared towards people in their own work, as the military and his family are always moving to another city. It was also found a good level of interaction (they talk, set limits, eat meals together, play games, perform sports and leisure activities, help with school tasks), accessibility and responsibility (education, care and financial provision) of parents with regard to children. For parents who live in Military Village, contact with their children and wife at lunch time is facilitated. They also facilitate paternal involvement: wanting to be with the children (having an attachment), having a good marital relationship, trying to disconnect from work when you are with the family, common interests with the children, enjoying physical activities and being willing to have been young father. In turn, they affect parental involvement: temporary leave resulting from military activities in other cities, working on weekends or on missions that involve nights, such as camps, in addition to marital friction and demands for school performance.Item Escolarização, trabalho e família: concepções e perspectivas de adolescentes e familiares em busca dos exames supletivos(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-12-09) Cruz, Ariadne de Araújo; Moreira, Lúcia Vaz de Campos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Carvalho, Ana Barreiros de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Santos, Davi Moisés Barreto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Santos, José Eduardo Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Fornasier, Rafael Cerqueira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/The general goal of this investigation consists in identifying adolescents who take supplementary exams and their parents/guardians’ conceptions and perspectives about schooling, work and family. The study is descriptive, exploratory and based on a quantitative approach. The research was carried out at “Permanent Comission of Evaluation”- CPA, which takes place at a state school in Salvador/Bahia. The study involved 30 teenage candidates and their respective parents/guardians who chose the CPA of the mentioned school to take the Supplementary Exams. In total, 60 people participated in this survey. Data collection was based on two semistructured script of interviews: one of them to the adolescents, and the other to their parents/guardians. The study was approved by the “Committee on Ethics Research” of the Catholic University of Salvador (UCSal). The participants were contacted and interviewed in the school environment. Data were analyzed constructing categories based on the obtained replies and based on the calculation of the respective percentages. The main results were: According to the parents/guardians of all social levels, the main perspective is that the adolescent should take the supplementary exams in order to regularize the school life or to anticipate the access to the University, and to finish high school as soon as possible, since there was a gap between age and grade. In turn, some adolescents think that their perspectives were focused on obtaining the certification and, consequently, on being able to access labour market more easily. Adolescents and their parents/guardians think that school is, mainly, a place of learning and of social interaction. Besides this, school consists of a place to access a better study and a better learning. Work is seen, besides other things, as a way of survival. For the most adolescents and their parents/guardians, family is considered the basis to everything. The participants value education, but it is necessary to adopt effective public policies in order to guarantee the quality of the schooling process to everyone which is part of a society that, every day, requires more qualification of their citizens.Item A família monoparental na contemporaneidade: aspectos jurídicos e interdisciplinares(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2016-12-19) Viana, Alane Fagundes; Lima, Isabel Maria Sampaio Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4133901855237809; Alcântara, Miriã Alves Ramos de; Carvalho, Rosely Cabral de; Milani, Carlos Roberto Sanchez; Carvalho, Ana Barreiros deSociety’s demographic, social, economic and cultural transformations have influenced family life. As fatherhood is a concept in a deep changing process, this dissertation aims to understand Bahia’s father’s role in contemporary society from the point of view of father’s of different socio-economical contexts. To reach this objective, a case study was realized and 30 fathers were interviewed, and who worked in a big company in Ba-hia/Brazil, they were divided into two groups that earned lower and higher salaries. A ques-tioner was elaborated based in Lamb (2004) and Palkovitz (1997) concepts about fatherhood. Psicodrama, Sociodrama and Relational Theory conducted the study once; they explain that individual and social construction is based in personal and social roles that allow the emer-gence of social capital. As a result, It was noted that father of lower socio-economic income the father’s role is to teach, to be available and affectionate to the child. Therefore, for the higher income group, “father” is the person that teaches, is available and share activities with the child. Both interviewed groups affirmed that principal factor that makes them closer to the child is to share activities. Lower salary fathers affirmed that “work” is the factor that difficult them to be closer to their child and that, the second factor is “divorce” once, higher income fathers affirmed that “work” is the principal factor that makes them more distant from their child, and in sequence, the little amount of time. It was noted that regard to “responsibility” and “availability” factors, fathers of higher income were more involved than lower income. It was noted too, that lower income fathers were more involved than higher income salary in activities related to affection (smile to the child), meanwhile, the inverse occurs to activities related with cognition (like to teach). As greater majority of respondents affirmed that institutions and government does not give support for them performing fatherhood, it was noticed that is necessary more involvement of public and institutional policies makers to include fatherhood in the context of schools, health, and the caring of children and families. It was observed that changes are is necessary not only in institutional and public policies, but even in research policies too once, fatherhood’s investigations are insufficient and when they exist, in majority, show a conformist point of view about fatherhood reality. These data conducted a conclusion that fatherhood is contingent on context in regards to the complexity of socioeconomic, cultural, and historical aspects and family’s characteristics. Essentially, it is important not only to children development but, also for men themselves, and for society, as, after becoming father, they grow in responsibility and maturity, and in this way can help promoting gender equality, detachment from poverty, crime and constructing a society as a better place to live.Item A sociedade do cuidado e as mudanças na paternidade e no envolvimento paterno(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2015-10) Carvalho, Ana Barreiros de; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do Salvador
