Item Análise dos aspectos espaço-temporais da marcha de crianças hemiparéticas que utilizam órtese em membro inferior: relato de caso(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2018-06-26) Ventura, Vanessa Nascimento; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Sá, Sumaia Midlej Pimentel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Cerebral palsy causes physical and functional changes including hemiparesis. Bracing is a widely used feature in children with CP; it aims to improve the alignment of peripheral joints, prevent joint deformities and optimize space-time aspects. Objective: To observe possible changes in walking parameters, with and without AFO use in MMII. Materials and methods: This is a case report involving a child with a hemiparesis-type PC. A GoPro Hero4 was used to shoot the gait with and without AFO, the images were analyzed by the CVMOB and compared the two moments for analysis of possible changes in speed, pitch length and cadence. Project was approved by the CEP with CAEE of 82972217.9.0000.5628 according to Law 466/2012. Results: The AFO prescription for children with spastic hemiparesis-type PCs may influence spatiotemporal aspects. The use of the device increased pitch length however decreased speed and cadence. Conclusion: The results showed that AFO influences the spatiotemporal aspects of gait of the hemiparetic child due to PC sequel but new studies involving a larger number of participants are needed to increase the resultsItem Avaliação de equilíbrio em crianças com cegueira congênita(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2007-10) Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; Sá, Sumaia Midlej Pimentel; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Correlação entre a frequência alimentar de fibras e constipação intestinal em pessoas com HAM/TSP: estudo transversal(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-10) Menezes, Roberta Ribeiro de; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorAssociated Myelopathy/Tropical Spastic Paraparesis (HAM/TSP) is an immune-mediated disease, usually asymptomatic. However, there are those who can develop autonomic changes in bladder sphincters and develop constipation, which can be influenced by fiber consumption. Objective: To verify the correlation between the frequency of dietary fiber consumption and intestinal constipation in people with HAM / TSP. Methodology: Cross-sectional study, carried out with 22 people with HAM / TSP. The individuals were submitted to an evaluation in a single moment, about: the fiber feeding frequency through the FFQ ELSA-Brasil; constipation was evaluated using the Agachan Scale; and, a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire was applied. The study was submitted to and approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) with CAEE of 77594617.0.0000.5628. Results: In the evaluated group it was possible to observe that the predominance of females, in the fifth decade of life, who use an auxiliary device and do not perform physical activity. The presence of constipation was observed as indicated by the Agachan scale, and the frequency of fiber consumption was 36.30 g / day, with a higher consumption than the recommendation. Thus, the correlation between these last two variables is weak and statistically insignificant (r= 0.212 and P= 0.313). Conclusion: The average frequency of fiber consumption is above that recommended for a healthy population, in contrast, these individuals have constipation, with a weak correlation between these variables. Further studies are needed to assess factors that influence, with fibers, the presence and worsening of constipation.Item O cuidar da criança com deficiência exercido pela rede de apoio familiar(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-05-31) Queiroz, Natália Santos; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; lattes.cnpq.br; Sá, Sumaia Midlej Pimentel; lattes.cnpq.br; Salgado, Jessica Damasceno; lattes.cnpq.br; Lima, Bianca Martins Rocha; lattes.cnpq.brThe arrival of a member in the family may be related to the birth of a child, which causes changes in the family structure, and in the case of a child with a disability, caregivers, be they parents or grandparents, have a social life more restricted. Objective: To review in the literature the factors that lead other family members to care for children with disabilities. Material and Method: This is a study of Narrative Literature Review. We found 42 articles, published between the years 2009-2019, that fulfilled the inclusion criteria and all were selected for reading. Results: 8 articles were left to compose this literature review. Final considerations: Studies have shown great participation of grandmothers in the care of their grandchildren with disabilities, either as primary or auxiliary caregivers. It is necessary to clarify with new studies, directed to the grandmothers, that approach on the factors that take the care of the disabled child by other people of the family, and by who is not familiar.Item Efeito do método pilates sobre a fadiga de pessoas com HAM/TSP: ensaio clínico randomizado(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-10) Lisboa, Camila Keite Rodrigues; Brito, Eliana Sales; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Efeito terapêutico do método pilates sobre a endurance da marcha de pessoas com HAM/TSP: ensaio clínico randomizado(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-10) Nascimento, Diego de Jesus; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Perfil antropométrico de pessoas com HAM/TSP: estudo transversal(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2018-12-10) Silva, Sandra Reis da; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; lattes.cnpq.br; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; lattes.cnpq.br; Albuquerque, Carolina Alves Rolim de; lattes.cnpq.br; Trindade, Geiza Santana Neri; lattes.cnpq.brMyelopathy associated with HTLV-1 / tropical spastic paraesthesia HAM / TSP, characterized as a demyelinating, inflammatory and progressive central nervous system (CNS) disease, leading to a gait impairment in the lower limbs, hindering the locomotion of these individuals. This study aims to characterize the anthropometric profile of people with HAM / TSP. Methodology: A cross-sectional study where patients with a probable or defined HAM / TSP diagnosis according to World Health Organization (WHO) standards were treated at a referral unit in the city of Salvador. Sixteen patients of both sexes were evaluated, where they signed the free and informed consent form. A socio-demographic questionnaire and anthropometric data were collected. Results: It was observed that 62.5% of the participants were female and aged between 32 and 64 years, mean age was 53 years, as for marital status, 50% were married. It evidenced the presence of overweight in both sex and of obesity only among women. Presence of risk for metabolic complications was observed in 60% of the women according to the waist circumference and an accumulation of fat in the neck region in both sex, being 50% female and 83.5% in the masculine. Conclusion: Individuals with HAM / TSP were overweight and at risk for the onset of metabolic complications. In view of the results presented here, it opens the door to the emergence of new studies related to the anthropometric parameters, thus collaborating to broaden the knowledge of this health condition.Item Recursos terapêuticos não farmacológicos no alívio da dor em pacientes com Síndrome de Guillain-Barré: revisão de literatura(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-06-07) Falcão, Letícia Silva; Freitas, Juliana Viana; lattes.cnpq.br; Fonseca, Erika Pedreira da; lattes.cnpq.br; Brito, Eliana Sales; lattes.cnpq.brGuillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is an acute demyelinating inflammatory polyneuropathy that affects the peripheral nerves, with normally reversible manifestations. Characterized by pain, ascending symmetrical paralysis with progressive limb weakness. Its incidence is one to two cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Pain is the first and foremost symptom, ranging from moderate to severe and can last up to 2 years. The pain in GBS has aroused interest of the scholars, since it directly affects the quality of life of the patients. Objective: To gather the studies that investigated the use of non-pharmacological therapeutic resources in the control of pain in patients with GBS. Material and Method: It is a review of narrative literature, with a search carried out in the BIREME, SCIELO and PUBMED database in the Portuguese and English languages, that the keywords were in the title or abstract, published between 1990 and 2019. In the database were found 210, through reading the title and abstract excluded articles, 82 did not address pain in GBS, 15 were duplicate, 38 were review, 62 reported only pharmacological resources. After the first selection, reading the full text and excluding 10 other articles, 3 did not clarify which therapeutic resource was used and 7 referred to the nursing care in GBS. Clinical trials, case studies or reports of experiences investigating pain relief in GBS were included. Excluded from the research articles that used only pharmacological resources, which did not clarify what therapeutic resources used. As a result, 3 articles can be collected that demonstrated that non-pharmacological therapeutic resources are viable and favorable for pain relief in patients with GBS. Further studies with better methodological quality and the use of other non-pharmacological therapies for pain relief in this population, such as: acupuncture, neuromodulation, reik, and music therapy
