    The purpose of this article is to analyze the procedure for recognizing persons during criminal prosecution, in view of the possibility of judicial error regarding this procedure. Thus, the problem is based on investigating what are the main doctrinal and jurisprudential divergences regarding the procedure for recognizing people that occur in criminal prosecution. For this, a bibliographic review was carried out regarding the procedure of criminal prosecution in Brazil, and qualitative research was also applied as a research methodology.
