Abstract
To know the perception of physiotherapy teachers about stress. Method: Descriptive study, qualitative approach. Eleven teachers of physical therapy participated in the study, who answered a semi-structured interview that addressed questions regarding teachers' perception of stress. The data were analyzed from the perspective of Bardin. All informants signed the Free and Informed Consent Term (TCLE). Results: After transcription of the interviews and rigorous analysis of the data, it became possible to identify and define the categories of the present study, being these: 1. Stress in teachers' work routine; 2.The meaning of stress for teachers. Final considerations: After analyzing the interviews it was verified that the stress has a very broad meaning. This meaning is elaborated by the individuals according to the relation that they have with the stimulus. Some respondents understand stress as beneficial, others as evil, but most respondents believe that stress is necessary for the growth, development, and evolution of human beings
