This paper presents the theme The School Inclusion of the Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Educational Environment: Advances and Challenges, demonstrating the importance of including autistic children in the school setting and the family challenges while dealing with this disorder. Faced with this, the research was carried out with the objective of identifying the participation of the family in the process of inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, aiming the investigaton of the parents’ opinion towards the participation of themselves and the society in the inclusion process of their child. The presence, involvement and commitment of the parents in the school life of their children are necessary for the success of the inclusion. Thus, for seeking a better understanding of the subject, it is
necessary a qualitative and quantitative study about the efficiency and necessity of educational inclusion of children with autistic spectrum disorder.
O presente trabalho apresenta o tema “a inclusão escolar do aluno com Transtorno do Espectro Autista no ambiente educacional: avanços e desafios”, demonstrando a importância da inclusão de crianças autistas no âmbito escolar e os desafios da família para lidar com esse transtorno. Diante disso, a pesquisa foi realizada com o objetivo de identificar a participação da família no processo de inclusão de alunos com Transtorno do Espectro Autista, visando investigar a concepção dos pais com relação à participação da sociedade e deles mesmos no processo de inclusão de seu filhos, sendo necessário a presença, o envolvimento e comprometimento dos pais na vida escolar dos filhos para o êxito da inclusão. Dessa forma, buscando um maior entendimento a respeito do tema, é necessário um estudo qualitativo e quantitativo sobre a eficiência e necessidade da inclusão educacional das crianças com transtorno do espectro autista.
