Abstract
Different studies have found erroneous facts about human papillomavirus (HPV) in the male population, bringing to light the man's role in the dynamics of virus transmission. Objective: To analyze the level of knowledge of male students regarding the forms of infection and prevention of HPV at a Philanthropic University, Salvador, and Bahia. Methodology: A quantitative study was carried out through a cross-sectional exploratory and descriptive character, based on data that will be collected through a questionnaire, with male students from the health and engineering areas as the target population. Results: The evaluation of the results showed that there is a great lack of knowledge of the male students about HPV. Conclusion: There is a need for campaigns to encourage men to seek appropriate medical care. Thus, it is concluded that man needs to be assisted more precisely because he is considered one of the main transmitters of HPV.
