Abstract

This article aims to analyze the public policies implemented by the State of Bahia and their contributions in the fight against the genocide of black youth in the city of Salvador and the Metropolitan Region, specifically the Pacto Pela Vida (Covenant for Life Bahia) program - PPV-BA. To achieve the objectives, bibliographic and documentary analysis will be used. This work is justified by the fact that the genocide of black youth in the state of Bahia is a subject of extreme relevance to be shown and discussed. According to data from the Atlas of Violence (2019), in Brazil, in 2017, 65,602 were murdered, with the vast majority of this total being male. The high homicide rate of black youth in the country confirms that there is an ongoing genocide, in which slavery, discrimination and racial prejudice in Brazil contribute to this genocide.
