Abstract

This work is about the moral harassment in the student-teacher relationship, specifically in its ascending form. Over time, this phenomenon has been emphasized in Brazilian educational scenario, mainly due to the clientelism of the student body along with mercantilism which hangs in the structures of private higher education institutions. The scenario is of devaluation and depreciation in the relation of the educator with his students, since the figure of the student-client stands out to that of the teacher. As a consequence, the fragility and the lack of respect for the educator arise. Based on bibliographic review, documentary analysis and case study, the objective was to identify the most relevant motivating aspects, types and possible consequences of student bullying in relation to teachers, as well as discussing how the institutions have been dealing with the issue. It is a qualitative research that, although not intending to exhaust the subject, aims to reveal and discuss some relevant aspects in the scenario of precarization of higher education due to the mercantilized relations within the university environment, as well as the students’ moral harassment towards the professors.
