The present study aimed to evaluate the perceptions and knowledge of the students of the physical therapy course about health service residues (SSR) and their appropriate management stages. This is a descriptive, qualitative and quantitative exploratory study conducted with students of the physiotherapy course of the Catholic University of Salvador, located in Salvador, Bahia. A total of 53 students enrolled in the morning and evening physiotherapy course were interviewed. The data were collected through a structured questionnaire with closed questions and a semi-structured interview recorded on the RSS and its management stages. For the statistical analysis, the Bardin content analysis for the qualitative questions and the Epi Info 6.04 Software were used to describe the absolute frequencies and percentages of the quantitative questions. The values were expressed, by means of frequencies, in the form of graphs and tables. As results found: 81.1% of the students are female; 67.9% are in the age group of 21 to 25 years; 62.3% do not know the RSS ranking; 52.8% are aware of the risk potential of RSS, although 62.3% are not aware of segregation. It concludes with the study the ignorance of a great part of the students of the physiotherapy course on the RSS and its stages of proper management. Thus reflecting the need for teaching methodologies to seek ways to sensitize future physiotherapists about the RSS, so that they develop a broader understanding of environmental issues with a view to sustainability, so it is necessary to train qualified and sensitized health professionals to the importance of proper management of these wastes, with a sense of responsibility and ethical commitment to the health of society and the environment.Item Perfil alimentar da população adulta de uma comunidade do município de Salvador (BA)(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-10) Fernandes, Ingrid Santos; Silva, Amanda Valente da; Rego, Filipe Ferreira de Almeida; Lira, Síntia Freitas Bastos; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Prevalência de excesso de peso em adultos de uma comunidade em Salvador, Bahia: estudo transversal(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-10) Araújo, Camila Santos; Silva, Amanda Valente da; Rego, Filipe Ferreira de Almeida; Almeida, Silvana Monteiro; UCSAL, Universidade Católica do SalvadorItem Resíduos de serviços de saúde no ensino técnico profissionalizante: estudo de caso(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2019-02-08) Mangabeira, Francisco Carlos Cardoso; Carvalho, Miriam de Fátima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9125556472743507; Rego, Filipe Ferreira de Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3396167382817529; Carneiro, Aroldo José Borges; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7887493366945458The present study deals with the management of the Health Services Waste (RSS) generated by the State Center of Professional Education in Health AnísioTeixeira (CEEP SAT), a vocational high school of the Secretary of Education, State of Bahia (SEC / BA), located in Ladeira do Paiva, Caixa d'água neighborhood - Salvador Bahia. This exploratory research, structured as a case study, focuses on the administration and management of the RSS generated by the nursing activities and the clinical analysis related to the Professional Courses on Nursing and Clinical Analysis, by presenting a qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of the management model of the CEEP SAT RSS. For the survey of the management model adopted in the teaching unit and procedures adopted in the management of RSS, direct observations were made in practical classes and on the tasks of the cleaning staff, as well as based on questionnaires applied to follow-up the cleaning and sanitation staff, and professors that use the laboratories for practical classes with RSS generation and directors profesors. For the gravimetric study and classification of the generated RSS, weekly collections were carried out, for one semester, of the waste disposed in the sharps boxes in their totality, and those solid waste discarded in the common bins present in the laboratories (sampling plot). The study confirms CEEP SAT as an institution that generates RSS, mostly belonging to group E (63.87%), followed by residues of groups A (27.21%), B (1.90%) and D (7.02%); being the residues of group C nonexistent in its production. It was verified that the educational unit does not have a PGRSS, nor did it receive from the SEC / BA any guidance or support for the management and / or management of RSS generated in its premises. Management procedures of the generation, segregation to the external storage for the final disposal are not in agreement with the ANVISA resolutions RDC nº 222/2018 and CONAMA nº 358/2005, which to put the health condicional individual att risk (health work) besides representing a potential risk of harm against the complex dynamic equilibrium of the environment.Item Segregação de resíduos sólidos no bloco operatório de um hospital público estadual: estudo sobre o saber e o fazer dos trabalhadores(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2019-02-27) Aragão, Rita Maria de Brito Alves; Carvalho, Miriam de Fátima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9125556472743507; Rego, Filipe Ferreira de Almeida; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3396167382817529; Barros, Cláudia Silva Marinho Antunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8524191035064103The increasing generation of waste and its effects on the environment arouse the need to ensure actions that aim to correct or minimize the impacts resulting from this action. This study aimed to analyze the management of solid residues in the operative block of a large public hospital in the city of Salvador-BA, in order to awaken the attention, about the importance of the development of an environmental consciousness and the need Imminent formulation of actions to preserve the environment in daily working practices, starting with the process of segregating solid waste at the time of its generation. The objective was to evaluate the knowledge and the making of professionals who work in the operative block of a large hospital, referring to the relationship between the segregation process and the environment. This is a field research, descriptive and qualitative approach. The study participants were nurses, nursing technicians and hygiene workers working in the surgical unit of the hospital in a total of 25 participants, because it is the group of professionals who actively integrate the process of segregation and disposal of Residues of this sector. Data were collected in the period from July to September 2018, through an interview script. Data analysis was done through the technique of content analysis and divided into four categories, being: knowledge of professionals about the waste management of health services; knowledge about the residues produced in the aforementioned Sectors; the management of waste generated in the operative block from the perspective of the professionals interviewed; the practice of solid waste management of health services in the Hospital. The results revealed the distancing of the professionals between health and the environment and also the superficial knowledge about waste management, being this little explored by the institution. The data analyzed demonstrate that the service is done simply in the operational field, without further deepening or concern with flow followed by the residue to the final destination, revealing ignorance and consequent lack of consciousness and involvement in Waste management process. It is hoped that, from this study, there is a greater approximation of the professionals with the theme and their practices will also aim at the preservation of the environment.
