Abstract
Male users seek access to specialized health services and have low demand and adherence in Primary Health Care services, this scenario is justified by social and cultural factors that contribute significantly to the increase of morbidity and mortality in this population group. Objective: To analyze the factors that interfere in the access to APS services by the male population, besides identifying the reasons / barriers that lead to low men's demand for APS services Method: This is a field research, qualitative and descriptive approach. Held in Primary Health Care (APS) services, in the municipality of Seabra, Bahia. Results: The results were presented in the following categories of analysis: The importance of actions of health promotion and disease prevention; Main reasons / barriers to resistance in human health care and Difficulty faced by men in the insertion of APS services, using as criteria the common thematic elements that exist among them. Final Considerations: The low demand of male users in APS services is still due to a gender / masculinity view, in addition to their work routine, in the absence of programs aimed at them, making their access and accessibility unfeasible
