Considered a serious problem of Public Health, gender violence, more precisely violence against women became commonplace in Brazil. The statistical data are so alarming that they need no further clarification. The purpose of this study is to understand the causes of gender violence, specifically violence against women; to describe the public policies implemented in the fight against violence, focusing on Law 11,340 / 2006 and above all to contextualize the legislation in force in the scope of emergency measures, focusing on the aggressor and the aggressor.
