O Programa de Pós-Graduação em Políticas Sociais e Cidadania é um curso de pós-graduação stricto sensu, voltado para a formação de competências acadêmicas, políticas e técnicas necessárias à produção de conhecimentos sobre as atuais configurações da questão social e à formulação, gestão e avaliação de políticas sociais, com vista à promoção do bem-estar dos cidadãos. Com ele, a UCSal busca atender a uma demanda histórica da sociedade, especialmente daqueles setores mais diretamente envolvidos com o enfrentamento das múltiplas manifestações da questão social.
O curso tem caráter interdisciplinar e acolhe graduados e mestres de qualquer curso de graduação com interesse nas temáticas contempladas na sua Área de Concentração, tais como, Direito, Serviço Social, Economia, Psicologia, Administração, Pedagogia, Ciências Sociais, Fisioterapia, Enfermagem e outras.
Vagas são oferecidas anualmente para Aluno Regular no Mestrado e no Doutorado, além das vagas para Aluno Especial, abertas no início de cada semestre e destinadas aos interessados no curso que ainda não passaram pela seleção para aluno regular ou àqueles que desejem se atualizar nas temáticas do curso.

Item Educação de jovens e adultos no atual contexto do mundo do trabalho: desafios para efetivação de uma proposta curricular sócio-emancipatória(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2015-12-11) Neves, Adna Santos das; Freitas, Kátia Siqueira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1543244612205119; Pitta, Ana Maria Fernandes; Amorim, AntonioThis research had as general objective to investigate the main challenges to implementation of a curriculum proposal in social and emancipatory EJA, on the current context of the world of work. The research took place in the School Hall Senhor do Bonfim, Salvador-Ba in November 2014 period to November 2015. Sought to analyze the reflection of public policy in the school space EJA locus of research, see how the guidelines EJA Curriculum of the Municipal Secretary of education from Salvador conceive education and education-oriented world of work as well as its development in school , identify what are the practices developed in the everyday life of the school to effective social and emancipatory a curriculum. The methodology used in the research was an exploratory study, with data analysis through a qualitative approach. Based on the empirical knowledge the characteristics of this research has enabled better apprehension of the object under study: challenges to implementation of a EJA curriculum in a social and emancipatory perspective outside the current context of the world of work. In the first moment seeking a greater familiarity with the topic, were used the theoretical contribution of Freire (1967), Gadotti and Romão (2011)-Gadotti (2014), Freitas (2006), Arroyo (2006)-(2011), Goodson (2013), Capucho (2012), Spink (2004), Scocuglia (2010), Lawrence (2004), Torres (2001), Gil (2002), Minayo (2009), Francis (2002), among others, followed by analyses bibliographic and documentary . The second time we conducted a field study based on speeches and experiences that permeate the pedagogical practice on ADULT and YOUTH EDUCATION through participant observation, followed by script with issues relating to the current context of adult and youth education in school, then was applied questionnaires with 05 educators, among them the pedagogical coordinator of adult and youth education and learners ' 06 was developed a focus group that enabled greater rapprochement and exchange of experiences between students of different age bracket. The analyses obtained through field research revealed relevant aspects about the relationship education/world of work, as well as challenges to implement in practice an sociocultural emancipating curriculum on the scarcity of resources and funding for ADULT and YOUTH EDUCATION, training processes for discontinuity reflection of pedagogical practice with a focus on special features present in the EJA, consolidating the right to stay and to success in school , intensification of actions directed to the world of work, articulation between the EJA and governmental entities, among other challenges singled out in the search. It is possible to realize that the world of work and the social and emancipatory curriculum proposal are included in the curriculum of the EJA, however in practice the actions are not effective.Item O ensino médio profissional no IF Baiano/Senhor do Bonfim-BA: desenvolvimento humano na percepção de egressos(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2015-12-11) Carneiro, Thaline Teixeira Novaes; Freitas, Kátia Siqueira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1543244612205119; Pitta, Ana Maria Fernandes; Amorim, AntonioThis research has the purpose of evaluation, by graduates of the effectiveness of the integrated technical course in farming, at Campus IF Baiano / Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia, while action devised by the recent Professional Education and Technology Policy (2004) for citizen and professional development. The main objective was to evaluate the perception of the graduates of that course, as to its effectiveness for their citizen and professional development. The theoretical framework of integrated vocational high school, able to carry out the development for citizenship and work was backed by national and international literature, as well as official documents and the recent (2004-2014) legislation of Vocational and Technological Education Policy in Brazil. The methodology was qualitative, exploratory, upon single case study, with documental and content analysis. The study subjects were 64 (sixty four) graduates, over eighteen years who completed the integrated technical course in farming, at Campus IF Baiano / Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia in 2014. As instruments for data collection, the study used official documents of the Federal Institute of Bahia; Two questionnaires, being one open and another mixed, the latter applied via internet. The results of the analyzes of the collected data showed that while the perception of graduates of integrated technical course Campus IF Baiano / Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia is in the sense of it being effective in leading to citizen and professional development, some aspects of the context of this course supply, at the Campus IF Baiano / Senhor do Bonfim, presented in the study, allow us to question the perspective of citizenship and work where to this educational activity directs its graduates.Item A flexibilização das formas de contrato docente na educação básica da rede pública da Bahia(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2021-04-15) Verissimo, Patricia Maria Dias; Borges, Ângela Maria Carvalho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Amorim, Antonio; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Freitas, Kátia Siqueira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/This research used as a requirement for the master's degree presents data and analysis of process of flexibilization in the forms of hiring teachers for basic education at the public network of Bahia. The process of State restructuring, in the 90’s, has as relevance complacency and precariousness of jobs hiring through adaptation of temporary hiring without any public contest creating a prompt for temporary or intermediary of service provision coming with payment lower than the established at the plans of office and salary. Those result in diverse forms of precarity of jobs and a higher rate of informal hiring at this research pointed and criticized with this a process deleterious of destruction of the formal job, signed portfolio. Through the interview process realized with teachers of the analyzed institution were proof elements of flexibilization and precariousness of their job along with the growth of labor work and its intensification through higher quantity of classes, students, shifts, subjects and school taught by them. All that and the participation of them at the school projects and events make of them multitask professional, creating then a process of sickness for the excess of labor. Concluding then that as shown by the speech of the professional interviewed that they have an overwhelming job and deprivation of social rights or even the lost of worker rights such as low payment and unsure of the job environment, due the transitional and harmful nature of this kind of hiring system by REDA.Item A formação do gestor educacional para o ensino básico no Mercosul: Brasil e Argentina(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2013-12-03) Rocha, Ailana Freitas; Freitas, Kátia Siqueira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1543244612205119; Borges, Ângela Maria Carvalho; Pires, Maria Auxiliadora Lisboa Moreno; Amorim, AntonioThis research had as its object of study the formation of the educational manager for basic education in two Mercosur countries: Brazil and Argentina. The main objective was to verify whether the reciprocity educational agreements signed in 1991 were implemented by the graduate courses for educational administrators, offered by two universities Mercosur: one in Jequie, Bahia, Brazil and one in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The theoretical training on the educational management was based in the national and international literature, and protocols, agreements, reciprocity agreements signed within Mercosur, as well as educational laws of both countries. The methodology was qualitative, descriptive, through multiple case study with document analysis and contrastive analysis. The research subjects were (05) students (02) teachers and (02) coordinators of training courses for educational administrators making a total (09) participants from two universities surveyed. Data were assessed with semi-structured interviews and analysis of documents provided by the Higher Education Institution - HEI. The results of the analyzes of the data collected indicate that, although these oferred by State University of Southwest Bahia - UESB and the National University of Tres de Febrero - UNTREF - are implemented in different countries, they have both distinguish hedand similar features. In the first case are the target audience, the curricula, the work of completing courses and context in which it discussed the formation of the educational manager and the use of educational reciprocity traties signed in the Protocol of intentions for 1991. In the second case, there are similarities with respect to courses that have the same focus on training professionals in the area of administration, planning, organization and supervision of schools, including the social dimension of professional practice, as well as the methodology used for the courses that consists of lectures, seminars, encouraging research and scientific articles. The basic objective of the courses is to contribute to the improvement professional skills in management. Both seek permanent update, committed to professional performance. The general objective was to analyze how interlocutions between educational practices and the world of work materialize in 2 (two) schools of Youth and Adult Education - EJA Fundamental I, in the Subúrbio Ferroviário, Salvador - Bahia - Brazil, between the years 2016 and 2020. The specific objectives were: to identify, through the report of the working students of EJA I, their interest in the development of the theme education and the world of work in didactic situations proposed by the teacher; portray how the world of work is inserted in the guiding documents of educational practice: Curricular Proposal for EJA I from the Municipal Education System of Salvador, Political Pedagogical Project - PPP, School Rules, Plans and didactic projects; verify which actions are proposed by the Municipal Education Secretariat Salvador and by the teachers in the classroom, aiming at the development of the thematic world of work in the school spaces of EJA I in the researched schools and how they serve the interests of the working student. Thus the problem of the study arose: How does the dialogue between educational practices and the World of Work take place in 02 (two) municipal schools of EJA Fundamental I in the Suburbio Ferroviário de Salvador in the period from 2016 to 2020? The methodology used was applied research, following a qualitative approach through the analysis of categories, with input from the research participants' verbalizations, based on Saviani's Historical-Critical Theory (2011), and the case study as a theoretical-methodological procedure used with Gil (2002), Trivinos (1987), Ludke and Andre (1986) as theoretical contributions, as well as other authors, such as Gadotti (2014), Amorim (2012) and Di Pierro (2007), who discuss the Public Policy of EJA; Arroyo (2017), Ventura (2017), Ciavatta (2014), Borges (2010) and Carvalho (2008): Youth and Adult Education and the World of Work, Freitas (2019), Dos Santos Costa (2001), Freire (1967) and Scocuglia (2010): Educational Practices at EJA and Namorado (2009) and Amorim, José Pedro (2012) : Assumptions of popular education and solidarity economy and EJA, in the National and International sphere, among others referenced in the thesis, followed by the performance of documentary analysis on Youth and Adult Education (EJA). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, thinking about the preservation of life, health and well-being of the people involved in the research, we used semi-structured interviews, through the Google Meet Platform, with 06 (six) teachers, 01 (one) manager and 02 ( two) pedagogical coordinators. The questionnaire was applied online, through Google Forms, with 42 (forty-two) students enrolled in the year 2020, and the virtual focus group technique was performed through the Google Meet Platform, with the help of TICs, with 05 (five) students who did not continue their studies in 2019, of the 02 (two) schools of EJA Ensino Fundamental I surveyed. The results obtained revealed: the yearning of working students for discussions related to the world of work and the development of practical activities regarding the theme, explored in class, the discontinuity of actions taken by schools in this regard, the lack of actions that dialogue with the fundamental EJA I through the Department of Education.
