Abstract
The present study deals with the management of the Health Services Waste (RSS) generated by the State Center of Professional Education in Health AnísioTeixeira (CEEP SAT), a vocational high school of the Secretary of Education, State of Bahia (SEC / BA), located in Ladeira do Paiva, Caixa d'água neighborhood - Salvador Bahia. This exploratory research, structured as a case study, focuses on the administration and management of the RSS generated by the nursing activities and the clinical analysis related to the Professional Courses on Nursing and Clinical Analysis, by presenting a qualitative and quantitative diagnosis of the management model of the CEEP SAT RSS. For the survey of the management model adopted in the teaching unit and procedures adopted in the management of RSS, direct observations were made in practical classes and on the tasks of the cleaning staff, as well as based on questionnaires applied to follow-up the cleaning and sanitation staff, and professors that use the laboratories for practical classes with RSS generation and directors profesors. For the gravimetric study and classification of the generated RSS, weekly collections were carried out, for one semester, of the waste disposed in the sharps boxes in their totality, and those solid waste discarded in the common bins present in the laboratories (sampling plot). The study confirms CEEP SAT as an institution that generates RSS, mostly belonging to group E (63.87%), followed by residues of groups A (27.21%), B (1.90%) and D (7.02%); being the residues of group C nonexistent in its production. It was verified that the educational unit does not have a PGRSS, nor did it receive from the SEC / BA any guidance or support for the management and / or management of RSS generated in its premises. Management procedures of the generation, segregation to the external storage for the final disposal are not in agreement with the ANVISA resolutions RDC nº 222/2018 and CONAMA nº 358/2005, which to put the health condicional individual att risk (health work) besides representing a potential risk of harm against the complex dynamic equilibrium of the environment.
