Recently, Chikungunya (CHIKV), Dengue (DENV) and Zika (ZIKV) had great repercussion for causing epidemic outbreaks in Brazil, and for the development of manifestations that directly affect the nervous system. Transmission occurs in a sustained way in urban areas, through mosquitoes of the genus Aedes. The adaptation of the vectors became favored in tropical regions, due to population migration, and precariousness of the sanitary conditions. Objective: Report the neurological manifestations related to infection by arboviruses such as Chikungunya, Dengue and Zika. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic review of the literature, using original articles indexed in the electronic databases SciELO, PubMed, and LILACS, and elaborated following the PRISMA recommendations. The researches were carried out by consulting the vocabulary of Descriptors in Health Sciences (DECS), using descriptors in Portuguese and English. The selected articles have been published in the last four years. Results and discussion: 345 articles of databases were recovered, and of these 30 articles were selected for this review. In total, there were 4,072 patients, from fetuses to the elderly affected by the 26 reported neurological manifestations; 90% of the studies approached ZIKV, while 16.66% were CHIKV, and 3.33% were DENV. Final considerations: This study brought Brazil as the most epidemic site to the ZIKV, followed by French Polynesia and Martinique, according to the number of works found. It was possible to analyze how CHIKV, DENV and CHIKV relate to the neurological manifestationsItem Utilização de espécies de cladóceros (Crustacea: Brachiopoda) em ensaios ecotoxicológicos(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2019-06-10) Oliveira, Philipe Costa de; Silva, Eder Carvalho da; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Silva, Daniel de Abreu Seixas; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Dias, Marcelo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.brThe intense human activity on nature contributes to its degradation, being the aquatic environment, among the natural resources, the most susceptible to impacts of human activity, since they are used as a place of disposal of domestic and industrial effluents. Ecotoxicology has emerged as a science that studies and evaluates the effects of physical and chemical agents on living organisms and their natural organizations (populations, communities and ecosystems). Through biomonitoring and toxicity tests, organisms are used as tools for a response (acute or chronic toxicity), given that only physical-chemical analyzes are not sufficient to determine potential effects on biota. The cladocerans, known as "water fleas" (Crustacea: Brachiopoda) are planktonic and filtering organisms that feed on particles, algae and other organic debris in aquatic environments in which they are inserted, very sensitive to environmental changes and, given to this characteristic, they are submitted to the most diverse types of pollutants in ecotoxicological tests, since they are in initial levels of the food chain, serving as food preferentially for fishes, being able to affect other instances of the food chain. In a literature review of the last 10 years (2009-2018), the exotic species Daphnia similis and Ceriodaphnia dubia were the most used species for acute and chronic toxicity studies, respectively, considering tests that include environments contaminated with heavy metals (As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Zn), chemical and nanoparticulate (Ag, Ti), besides its use for the measurement of river and basin quality. The species Ceriodaphnia silvestrii and Daphnia magna were used to compose analyzes of water bodies under the influence of agrochemicals and xenobiotics, also serving as a tool to trace sources of pollution. The native species Daphnia laevis and Macrothrix flabelligera were the least selected to compose studies. The criteria used to select the most used species were: wide distribution of organisms, short life cycle, rapid reproduction and, associated with these characteristics, establishment of protocols by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) and CETESB, regarding the preparation, management and use of these species. It was concluded that the versatility and differences in the sensitivity of the organisms to the tests that were submitted contribute to the selection of these, including the technical and legal support of the existing protocols, however, it is important to continue research that has the purpose of inserting other species native to the legal regulations, for greater reliability in the results, besides works that increasingly aim at the maintenance, control and conservation of water bodies, consolidating cladocerans as important tools of ecotoxicology and biomonitoringItem Análise da influência do nitrato de cálcio na germinação de sementes de rosa-do-deserto Adenium obesum (Forssk) Roem, Schult(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-06-12) Gomes, Irma do Nascimento; Gomes, Laíse Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Menezes, Christiano Marcelino; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Pimenta Júnior, Francisco; http://lattes.cnpq.brAdenium obesum desert rose is a plant native to Africa, but has been gaining ground in many parts of the world. His search has been for examples of seeds, which form great sculptures when reaching adulthood, in addition to reaching high values in the market, causing producers to seek more and more information about the desert rose. There are currently few studies related to germination mechanisms and requirements of this species. This study aims to analyze the influence of calcium nitrate on the germination of desert rose seeds A. obesum. For the accomplishment of this work, the germination of the seeds in different concentrations of calcium nitrate (concentration 400 ml / liter) in the treatments was carried out in order to ascertain which results would be more efficient for the germinative process. The total germination, germination speed coefficient, seedling vigor, root length and seedlings were evaluated. At the end of 10 days the germination of 18 seeds (immersed in calcium nitrate) and 18 seeds (control group) can be noted. The total germination presented a 90% rate, and by the CVG test, the germination speed of the seeds was similar. The seeds were considered vigorous, but the calcium nitrate dosage may have been very high, slowing the development of desert rose seedlingsItem Associação da faixa etária com o diagnóstico de câncer cervical em um hospital particular em Salvador-Bahia(Universidade Católica de Salvador, 2019-06-14) Ferreira, Rafaela Novais; Vaz, Sara Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Britto, Gabriela de Sales Guerreiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Fontes, Sheila Suarez; http://lattes.cnpq.brCervical cancer is a progressive condition that arises through intraepithelial changes that may progress to an invasive process. It dyes it over 15 years, even though the average age of women with invasive cervical cancer ranges from 48 to 52. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is considered the main causative agent of this cancer. Objective: To investigate cases of cervical cancer in a laboratory of pathological anatomy of a private hospital in the city of Salvador, Bahia. Materials and Methods: Patients who underwent anatomic and cytopathological examinations were analyzed from January 2015 to December 2018. The data were recorded in a collection form, made in the Microsoft Excel program. The descriptive statistics (mean / median, frequency) were applied to describe the results, which were presented in graphic form. Results: A total of 33.858 cytopathological and 82 anatomopathological exams were evaluated in the period from 2015 to 2018. The mean age of the patients was 40.8 years. In the cytopathological examinations the diagnoses were, "Negative" with a total of 30.891 (91%) exams and mean age 41.2 years; "Indeterminate" with 1.284 patients (4%) the mean age was 37.7 years. The association of the age group was made in the diagnoses of: "Low-grade lesions", with 689 patients (2%), most of them below the age of 25. 271 patients (40%); "High-grade lesions" presented patients (3%), 322 of whom were below 25 years of age, along with the age range of 25-35 years, with 321 (32%). Discussion: 1.004 patients (3%) presented a high-grade diagnosis (HSIL), relating the age group, the highest occurrence was in patients under 25 years 323 (32%), followed by the age range of 25-35 years with 321 (32 %). Conclusion: According to the results presented, we observed that, over four years, the age of cancer affected decreased for 39 years and decreased over timeItem Infecção por arboviroses associada à síndrome de guillainbarré: revisão sistemática(Universidade Católica de Salvador, 2019-06-14) Carvalho, Mércia Crislaine de Araújo; Fontes, Sheila Suarez; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Vaz, Sara Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Ribeiro, Gilmar; http://lattes.cnpq.brArbovirus are viral infections, transmitted in nature, through the bite of hematophagous arthropod vectors. They have become an important threat in tropical regions due to factors that favor viral transmission, such as drastic climate changes, uncontrolled deforestation, disordered migration and occupation, and fragility in sanitary conditions. Lately the number of cases where the nervous system is affected in patients infected with arboviroses has been evidenced. An example of a pathology caused by these arboviroses is Guillain-Barre syndrome. The origen of GBS is still unknown, but is believed to be related to an immune response of the body in response to infectios agents. OBJECTIVES:The purpose of this study was to review the association between Guillain-Barré Syndrome and arboviruses infections and to describe the characteristics indicated that evidenced this association. METHODOLOGY: This work is a systematic review of the literature with articles published between 2008 and 2019. Original articles of Portuguese, Spanish and English language were included, which addressed the association between zika, Chikungunya and dengue virus with the syndrome of Guillain-barre, available in the databases in their entirety. All articles addressing association with other infections were excluded. RESULTS: A total of 304 articles were found in the databases and selected 14 after evaluation of titles and abstracts. The results presented in the literature demonstrate that there is an association of the sundrome with arbovirus, especially in periods of virus epidemic. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: This study evidenced the association of GSB and arboviroses, being highlighted as the main symptom for suspected infection the fever, for diagnosis of GBS the paralysis of limbsItem Avaliação da produção de levana por Zymomonas mobilis utilizando diferentes meios de cultura(Universidade Católica de Salvador, 2019-07-10) Figueirêdo, Laís França; Almeida, Paulo Fernando de; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Vaz, Sara Nunes; http://lattes.cnpq.br; Rodrigues, Marcio Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.brItem Inventário de mamíferos de pequeno e médio porte num fragmento de mata atlântica no município de Mata de São João, BA(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-10) Paulo, Kelvin Jesus de; Carvalho, Anderson Abbehusen Freire de; lattes.cnpq.br; Menezes, Christiano Marcelino; lattes.cnpq.br; Cabral, Vânia Lúcia Paim; lattes.cnpq.brItem Uso e aplicações da falcoaria por empresas de consultoria ambiental no Brasil(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-11) Brandão, Ana Paula Morena Oliveira; Silveira, Nathália Diniz Bastos e; lattes.cnpq.br; Carvalho, Anderson Abbehusen Freire de; lattes.cnpq.br; Benati, Kátia Regina; lattes.cnpq.br; Gouvêa, Pedro Monteiro de Castro; lattes.cnpq.brItem Avaliação antifúngica do álcool 70% e hipoclorito de sódio 2% em superfícies de empresa ambiental no estado da Bahia, Brasil(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-11) Costa, Geisa Louise Moura; Ferreira, Edvana dos Santos; lattes.cnpq.br; Dias, Marcelo Alves; lattes.cnpq.br; Lima, Érica Ferreira; lattes.cnpq.brItem Análise de técnicas de plantio e armazenamento de sementes de mamona (Ricinus communis L.) na região de Irecê/ Bahia.(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-11) Cintra, Naiara da Silva; Gomes, Laíse Ferreira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Dias, Marcelo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Abbehusen, Anderson; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) is a crop of great potential for the region of Irecê - Bahia, which has favorable soil and climate conditions for its planting and has been standing out as an important alternative for the development of family agriculture in the region. However, the quality of castor bean seeds can be affected by several factors during the production process. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the main techniques for planting and storing castor oil seeds used by family farmers in the region of Irecê - Bahia, and to identify possible obstacles in production, relating them to the existing technical knowledge. For data collection, 10 farmers were interviewed between October and November 2019 through a semistructured questionnaire on castor bean cultivation techniques. It was noted that farmers commonly face difficulties in producing and draining production. Irregular and scarce rainfall, the use of low quality seeds, insufficient labor, compacted soil, pests, and lack of support and financing have been the main obstacles to production. That said, it is necessary to seek measures to eliminate or mitigate these failures, such as new projects for the construction of UTD, distribution of certified seeds, intensification of technology, adding producers to cooperatives, support from managers and incentives to producers; so that the social objectives of increasing castor bean production in the best quality standard and consequently, income generation in the region are achieved.Item Fatores associados à distribuição de Aedes Albopictus (Scuse,1984): uma revisão sistemática(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-11) Vasconcelos, Lucas Pereira de; Peres, Marcelo César Lima; lattes.cnpq.br; Melo, Tércio da Silva; lattes.cnpq.br; Rego, Filipe Ferreira de Almeida; lattes.cnpq.brItem Movimento da Baleia-Jubarte (Megaptera novaeabgliae; Borowski, 1871) em um trecho da costa da Bahia ano de 2016(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-12) Fernandes, Gabriela Guimarães; Rossi-Santos, Marcos Roberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Silva, Eder Carvalho da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Santos, Ruanna Chaves dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Carvalho, Anderson Abbehusen Freire de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Item Padrões de infestação por ácaros trombiculídeos (Acari: trombiculidae) em Tropidurus hygomi Reinhardt & Lutken, 1862 (squamata: tropiduridae) em restinga do litoral norte da Bahia(Universidade Catolica de Salvador, 2019-12-12) Bonfim, Mateus da Silva; Tinôco, Moacir Santos; lattes.cnpq.br; Moura, Geraldo Jorge Barbosa de; lattes.cnpq.br; Ávila, Robson Waldemar; lattes.cnpq.brItem Espécies de aves de rapina mais utilizadas nas empresas de falcoaria do Brasil(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2019-12-12) Peixoto, Érico Cunha; Carvalho, Anderson Abbehusen Freire de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Gouveia, Pedro Monteiro de Castro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Peres, Marcelo César Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Lobo, Duílio Francisco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Falconry has been practiced by mankind for many years throughout history, including birds that can capture prey through specific techniques of killing in the air or on land. In Brazil this activity has been growing gradually over the years, thus bringing relevance to the conservation of birds of prey present in our country. This article brings us a quantitative and qualitative research of birds used by falconry companies in the national territory, seeking to identify the relevance and the reason why certain species are present so often and in quantity in most of these institutions. Parabuteo unicinctus stands out among the marked birds and the main reason for this highlight is its behavioral and social characteristics.Item Análise cienciométrica da utilização do phoslock® para o manejo do estado trófico em ecossistemas aquáticos(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-06-26) Jesus, Manuela Oliveira de; Aleluia, Fabrício Tourinho Fontes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Silva, Eder Carvalho da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Alva, Juan Carlos Rossi; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Almeida, Cristiane Gomes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Cruz, Lilian Costa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Item Influência da estrutura do habitat de diferentes estágios sucessionais na distribuição e composição funcional de aranhas de mata atlântica(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-07-14) Carvalho, Amanda Oliveira de; Tardio, Bruno Marchena Romão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Benati, Kátia Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Peres, Marcelo César Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Simó, Miguel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Item Riqueza e composição de aranhas (arachnida: araneae) em fragmentos florestais urbanos de Salvador – Ba(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-07-14) Rodrigues, Victória Emanuelle Oliveira; Benati, Kátia Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Peres, Marcelo César Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Andrade, Alessandra Rodrigues Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Item Impactos da Usina Hidrelétrica de Pedra do Cavalo e do acordo de gestão sobre os estoques de siris, economia e modos de vida das comunidades tradicionais da Resex Marinha Baía do Iguape, Recôncavo Baiano(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-12-08) Costa, Marcus Vinicius Pinheiro; Tardio, Bruno Marchena Romão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Carvalho, Eder da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Benati, Kátia Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Silva-Menezes, Fernanda Vera Cruz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/Item Transformando um museu ambiental em acessível a todos os públicos(Universidade Católica do Salvador, 2020-12-08) Braga, Maria Caroline Sales; Dias, Marcelo Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Benati, Kátia Regina; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Carvalho, Anderson Abbehusen Freire de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/; Farias, Sandra Regina Rosa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/
